Well De Ridder has come off now for Chaplow, a bit like Guly usually does. Still think he needs a bit of polishing before he is a first time regular. His pace is certainly an asset but I wonder about his discipline, hopefully it will come with time. Anyone else have any thoughts about this?

Brighton down two at Ipswich now...think that they might not be leading off the highlights for a while.

 

I really like Guly, what a creative player! But it shows you what Southampton can do when Lallana is on song, we will miss him if he gets injured and he will be difficult to replace - quick wrap him in cotton wool.

Exactly the sort of win we needed to get our confidence back. And draws for West Ham and Middlesbrough, a loss for Brighton, Derby pending, and Pompey lost (naturally)...just about as good as we could hope for.

 

And other results went our way as well...someone up there likes us (thanks Markus)..just Derby game now and they'd have to score a hatfull to topple us. Wanted a decent score to improve our GD..superb. Well done Adkins and the boys.

 

Wasn't the goal after ten games 20 points? Woohoo!!

 

Good to get a great result going into this 2 week break. October is a hard month or a chance to consolidate (whichever is your viewpoint), followed by 'easier' games in November. Adkins says wait and see where we are in January, but it's hard not to get excited.
