The Hull-based broadband provider is to expand its range of community-focused activities in collaboration with the football club as part of the new 12-month deal. Sean Royce, managing director of KCOM Retail, said: “We’re delighted to be continuing our long and successful relationship with Hull City by becoming its official Community Partner. As two of the city’s longest-established institutions, with more than a hundred years each at the heart of our communities, KCOM and Hull City are part of the fabric of this region, giving us a strong and enduring connection. “We’ve supported the club through thick and thin down the years, through all the incredible highs as well as the lows, and we will continue to do so in the future. Like all long-standing Hull City fans, we hope that the Tigers will soon be pushing for promotion back to the Championship. “For some time now we’ve been talking with the Club about changing the focus of our support to put more emphasis on activities that directly benefit the people of Hull and East Yorkshire. Our new sponsorship deal will enable us to continue partnering with Hull City through a community-first plan that will see us helping kids learn about the internet at events at the stadium and by supporting disadvantaged youngsters to reach their full potential – both on and off the pitch.” KCOM will continue to hold the naming rights for the KCOM Stadium while the Club seek a new overall sponsor for the venue. As part of the new deal the stadium’s South Stand concourse will become the official KCOM Community Zone which will host a range of matchday events and entertainment. Alongside this, the Club and KCOM will also join forces to host the region’s first coding camps, which will use football as the vehicle to teach youngsters vital coding and programming skills and open the door to future employment opportunities in the digital world. More plans for Hull City and KCOM to unite the world of sport and the online world with exciting new initiatives will be announced shortly. Joe Clutterbrook, Head of Commercial and Marketing at Hull City, said: “It’s a great privilege for us to extend our partnership with KCOM for another year. “The support they give to the Club and the local community is second to none and to bring both of those elements together as our official Community Partner makes absolute sense. We have a lot of activity planned and it’s going to be a lot of fun seeing that come to life.” The new deal will see KCOM and Hull City working closely together on initiatives such as the hugely successful KCOM Kits. Launched last season, the scheme saw a full Umbro team strip donated to a local grassroots football team for every home goal scored by the Tigers. More than 30 local youth teams will soon be receiving full team kits in time for the new football season. The new community-first approach will also support joint initiatives such as Internet Safety Day, where 18 primary schools from across Hull and East Yorkshire descended on the KCOM Stadium in February for fun activities and games to help them learn about online safety. KCOM and Hull City Official Supporters Club will also continue to work together, bringing the Tigers closer than ever to communities outside of Hull by holding more fan events across the East Riding. This follows a highly successful launch event at Driffield earlier this year where 100 local fans were able to meet current players and club legends. https://www.hullcitytigers.com/news...ounce-new-community-focused-sponsorship-deal/
'KCOM will continue to hold the naming rights for the KCOM Stadium while the Club seek a new overall sponsor for the venue'. This 'new sponsorship deal' seems to just be a way of disguising the announcement that KCOM have cancelled their sponsorship of the stadium.

CFY. "I don't know the 'Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Allam Hull City Tigers Circle Stadium' has a certain ring to it". Nice and short too.
You're not on your own there, neither is the Queen. She wouldn't let me in her house, so she's not coming in mine.
They may have already done so, but the commercial team need to be contacting Ineos for sponsorship. A drop in the Humber compared to the rumoured £700m they're willing to pay for the Mercedes F1 team.
