Off Topic North East Lockdown

So this is where the BBC is getting these "leading" scientists/experts from, I had wondered such is the bollocks they are spouting in their fear campaign. Absolute nonsense rules based on absolute nonsense science, and nonsense testing. I feel incredibly sorry for anyone who loses a relative or friend to it. But unfortunately folk die everyday for a variety of reasons. The death rate for this doesn't warrant any of these stupid ****ing measures. If you applied the same rules/rational to other things which kill us, we'd never leave the ****ing house! I'm fully behind distancing and basic measures to try to eradicate it, and also protecting those vulnerable to it. But the rest of it looks based on science produced by a stoner or something.

Can anyone clarify the rules? We are due to have a night out next Friday and there is currently a heated discussion taking place in a group chat about what they mean. I think the key bit which is confusing everyone is it says that visiting people outside your household or support bubble (I mean WTF you bunch of wet bastards) in other private homes is banned bar the exemptions. But then it says people are only 'advised' not to socialise with people outside their household in public venues. So not banned. So everyone (bar one guy) is taking that as we can still go to the pubs in groups of 6. It certainly reads like that but surely the rules can't be that contradictory?! It would be an absolutely farcical situation.

I'm sick to death of people moaning about lockdown... Just do what you're being asked... Its about other people not your Sunday dinner arguments with the family you rarely bothered your arse to see before covid anyway

There really isn't. Unless you are going to start staying permanently due to other things with a similar rate of death.
