He’s about to wum you into oblivion for that comment bro, the wum gates of hell are about to open and you’re going to face the full wum-wrath of Big Kipper.
One of my favourites from April 2012 was the Ensil affair. For those who never heard of him he was one of life’s nut jobs. As was the norm back in the day posters would attack an opposing teams board for a bit of old style wumming. Whereas the likes of Tubby and a few others toyed with the concept but were novices. Ensil was abusive and frequently offered straighteners to people who gave him short shrift. This guy even lied to his own mates on the Spud board about his father dying to gain sympathy for some reason unknown to anybody but himself. Upshot was I conferred with Drogs (fellow mod) and we banned him from the board. End of the story? Nope, the crazy bastard Used all his socks up trying to get even Eventually he disappeared via a strange looking button that used to be available to mods in the early days.
Spam button, that did a lot of damage that button. It's quite useful that button, because once you hit a person with it, it flags up loads of similar accounts and asks if you wanted to blitz them too...yes, yes and yes.
He was a ****ing mentalist. The severed bollock was the final act of a long list of bizarre behaviour from him. He was also an insufferable pedant. The spurs board is a bit like that anyway, just the other day they were flapping about Brunel asking them what their golden generation has won whilst at Spurs, and they were firing off World Cup wins for Lloris and Asian cup winners for Son. Claiming that the question was worded ‘whilst at Spurs’ not ‘trophies won at spurs’ Ensil would have been all over that, claiming the win whilst the rest of the board just laugh at it.
How comes the Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea boards never really took off? (although spurs is by far the busiest of the 3)
We never had vast numbers but a hardcore 30 or 40 back in the day. Lost some good guys like Drogs, JTs hard tackle, Bluemoon just to name a few. Some found their company’s computer usage policies restrictive and the rest slowly dwindled away but used to have the craic back then.
They did. And there was a fair bit of banter between the Arsenal and Chelsea boards that went back to the old BBC 606 days. The Arsenal board was at its busiest from around 2011-2015 when the whole Wenger in Wenger out debate was raging. It split the board down the middle and pretty much became all our civil war in the end. As mod of that board, there were some people who thought I should just keep schtum about my own views **** that. There was a group of Wenger out members who raged about that and ended up ****ing off to form their own forum where they could slate Wenger, the players and everything about the club. Since then, the PL board gained popularity, which is why I think a lot of the former busy boards have now dwindled.
