What do you lot rate our transfer window out of 10? I personally don’t think we’ll get anyone else. Maybe a cheap signing for the academy or something like that Peruvian player but nothing major. I’ll go for an 8. I think we could do with one more CM and another striker.
At the start of it I thought we'd sign no one, we went out and signed 4 players who I think all slot right in and improve the squad. I'm pleasantly surprised to say the least, I'd give it a 7 out of 10, but only because I still think we need a proper serious CDM. I think if we signed up a CDM we'd be able to push for top ten.
If I rated as it stands I'd give a 6. I'm not saying it's been poor, but, 5 in, 4 of which are good enough to start should be the bare minimum. Maybe I'm being greedy and unrealistic, but, a couple more in and others shifted out and I'll go higher.
I rate it against what our competitors have managed, I think we've had one of the better windows in the league.
I can appreciate why you've rated it a 7, I just want to see a bit more before I go 7 or an 8. To be honest if I rated it against our competitors I'd probably do that now. Like I say, maybe I'm being greedy.
7 for me. Solid dependable business. Sort of just doing enough to make relegation unlikely if well managed. I’d have wanted to see a holding midfield and ball player in centre of park ideally, such a key area and our combo of Hayden and Shelvey isn’t what I’d want to see ideally. I like both, they’ve done ok here but if we want to progress, it really is absolutely paramount you have the required quality in the centre of the park. A lot of games won and lost there.
Far too carried away a usual right nkw it's a 5 for me.. Nothing too spectacular just acceptable.. 3 average premier league players.. Is that too much to ask? Not in my opinion...
For me, Almiron should be in the middle and Shelvey dropped. If we aren't going to have a natural baller who can ping balls around the park, I'd like to see atleast two players (Hayden and Almiron) who can track and commit to challenges. Shelvey just doesn't do enough, he's far too often caught watching the play unfold and not getting involved. Almiron, Hendrick and Hayden is our best midfield.
Shelvey is useless, but the other option is Sean bloody longstaff.. I don't see almiron as a cm personally..
He's a CAM all the way He can switch to his preferred left as much as he likes, has an eye for a threw ball, always looking for that pass. I am 100% convinced it will work.
Yes, because Hendrick will be CM not Shelvey... Almiron can fulfill CAM but also has no issues dropping back, Hendrik, Hayden and Miggy are all capable of going in for a tackle and it gives us far more options
Doesn't move anywhere. Massively a one for Rafa's sit and wait style. Nothing wrong with that, horses for courses. He was excellent last season but he already looks a hindrance to this years team. I think the energy and pressing from Hendrick is already looking like it might give us the ability to play on the front foot when the opportunity arises. Obviously when you play the top sides that is difficult, but at least we will have all options. Its obviously riskier that Bruce is going to release the shackles a bit, but personally I'd rather we took that risk for the sake of entertainment.
My favourite player we’ve signed is Jamal Lewis, by a long shot. I genuinely think he’ll be a future English international. Some might think I’m being too optimistic there but when I watched Norwich last season him & Aarons, always stood out to me. Love that we’ve got him. Can’t believe Liverpool didn’t stump a further £5m to get him.
I dont know how to break this to you mate, but, Lewis is an international with Northern Ireland. You're thinking is good though.
Believe it or not, but Lewis is somehow Northern Irish. I love an underdog me, so for that reason I like Jeff Hendrick. He barely got a mention from everyone, kinda a disappointed groan to be honest. He comes on, bags an assist and a beauty of a goal, he's a bit of a midfield utility man, has even covered CDM in the past. He's not gonna set us alight, but, I like the fella.
