Well played Hull. Thought you were good all over the pitch and seem to have mentally turned the corner from last season. Lot of energy both in and out of possession and a gameplan which will hopefully serve you well for a promotion push. Good luck for the rest of the season
I'm not won over by Terry yet, it's early days, but it seems we are heading in the right direction and have cause for optimism. Hope he does himself a favour on Saturday and keeps Ingram in goal......if it's not broken don't fix it!
A much better performance by City, no doubt about it, we looked like a team wanting to get the ball, wanting to win & willing to work. It’s hard to believe this is the same team as went down without a fight last season, ok some different players, but the same manager who couldn’t motivate the players we had to even turn up in most games. I’m not convinced this is the real thing, but, it’s a decent start.
Body language from the players says it all..a good team spirit and all pulling together..Everyone is buzzing..Let’s have some more please..
Too many bad Apple's in the fruit bowl last season, they've gone and been replaced with fresh fruit...This is very much the real thing, embrace it.
The clear change in the mentality of the players does bring into question those who left, such as Lopes... Obviously, players like Maddison were clearly toxic, but I wonder how many of the players who at least, on the pitch, seemed alright, were actually much worse behind the scenes. Clearly something went down in the break between seasons, and whatever it was, at least right now, seems like it was a big positive.
I get the feeling that a lot of them probably remember how ****e we were when we last played them and simply thought it would be comfortable. I mean, I thought it would be comfortable for them, honestly. I have just seen an interview from Alioski on twitter (who was probably the only Leeds player who actually seemed to give a **** last night, though even then he wasn't any good), and he went in on his teammates, called the performance lazy with lack of aggression, and added that same point of players probably expecting to win instead of actually performing.
Maybe after 10 games in the League, I’ll have a different opinion, but right now, apples are apples, got to see how they end up. I think, after last season’s drop off a cliff, yes it should be a much easier league, but there’s no guarantees, I’m going to take it 10 league games at a time. For me, that’s where it counts!
I said myself that McCann would have a limited amount of time to show he's learned...I gave him 10 games to prove his worth and I still stick by that.
I didn’t know if I would enjoy football this season. I describe myself as a Hull City supporter and never as a football supporter. I hardly ever watch other teams or games that don’t include City. My pleasure comes from being part of the support, good times and bad. Sitting in my office with two computers and my phone on trying to get the best out of the game, with a bottle of beer in me mitts was great last night . The customary “How are they doing, love” just as the White ****e score has along with crossing the room to close the curtains, or look out of the window become part of my match. The transition from stand to sofa has become virtually complete.
Sun is shining more brightly, skies are bluer, the air is sweeter, birds are singing more beautifully than usual, food tastes better... Wonder why this is?
