    Has Bale still got it?
Well , his performances for Wales are still top class ( last year ). He might be a yard slower, but that is still an improvement for us.
We lost on Sunday from one piece of quality by Digne who was able to cross the perfect ball for their forward to attack.
We had two free kicks from decent positions which were both taken by Son and were both utter tosh.
He was already having injuries when he left us, that didn't stop him going on and winning games for RM.
If he stays fit for the majority of the season then we are on to a winner.

The amount we would save on the transfer fee would go towards his wages

I'm picturing Bale about to score a tap-in from point blank range...only to backheel it to Son who smashes it in, just to screw Los Ladrones out of a goal bonus

And I am fully supportive of doing that

Pretty sure we’ve made 4 or 5 finals in the 20 years Levy’s been at the helm. That’s not a bad record for a club like us, unfortunately the players and/ or managers have bottled 3 or 4 of them. We definitely need to start winning trophies but I’m not sure Levy can be solely blamed for our failures to bring in more than just the 1 in the last 20 years.

As for selling key players, the day Madrid took Ronaldo from Utd is the day I realised no one is safe from losing a key player. It sucks but it’s the nature of the beast. We’ve done the same thing to smaller clubs and we’ll be at the end of it more times too, regardless of chairmen/ owner.

Providing we don’t **** up the Reguilon and Bale deals, I think Levy’s delivering on that promise that the new stadium will be huge for the club with regards to finances and spending. Spurs will have signed:
    Ndombele - £55m
    Lo Celso - £45m
    Sessegnon - £25m + Josh
    Clarke - £10m
    Bergwijn - £22m
Gedson - loan with option to buy
    Doherty - £13.4m
    Hojbjerg - £15m
    *Bale - loan or perm
    *Reguilon - £25m

That’s some serious business even if some have underperformed, it’s shown the intentions of a “big club” which we all want. If the latter two do join, along with hopefully a striker (CB would be great too), there’s not really any excuses to not win a trophy to be honest and it won’t be Levy’s fault if we don’t.

Who won the Season Killer Cup in 2006?

If you can't remember you prove that trophies only matter to rival fans as a means to hiding their very real insecurities about their team no longer being title contenders

TuttoMercatoWeb claim that a rather expensive house in the Madrid area has been put up for sale

Why yes, that would be Gareth Bale's house...

The crime is that a player of Bale's ability is left to rot on the bench. Football is about excitement and players like Bale are rare and need to be seen. We lost Gazza and Best to the game far too early. Then you have injuries that robbed us of so many hours of Ledley King although a fit Ledley would no doubt have become the most expensive defender in the world when we were forced to sell. Then there's Duncan Edwards & John White both lost to us in more tragic circumstances.
Bale returning to Spurs and finding his form would produce so many lasting memories, I hope it happens.

Losing key players to "apex predators" overseas + rinsing them
on the transfer fee is the best you can do.

Fortunately for Spurs this has been the case since 2008.

You lack ambition...it’s something that’s morphed into you having witnessed us lift one trophy in 20 years.

My best advice to you is don’t be afraid of trophies mate...it won’t prove you wrong...it is indeed the aim of the game. It’s very possible to achieve both popularity and trophies no matter how much Spurs fans try to re define the aim of the game.

Or maybe, just maybe, I don't think this psychotic obsession with trophies is at all healthy - especially because so much of it is driven by listening to Nomad and Chav fans on Twitter trying to cover their own insecurities

Look at how mental Man Utd fans are these days because of their obsession with winning things coupled with their lack of winning things. Do you want to look like them? Because if you do, here's the starter pack
    * Say any player we didn't sign is obviously ****
    * Say every player in our team is better than players in other teams, even the ones you think are ****
    * Spend all your time on other team's boards because your own is deader than the Etihad's crowds

    Yes.

I also have no doubt Levy has mapped out how Spurs can win the
quadruple this season with the minimal on-pitch appearances by Bale.

    12. Spurs Director: “The trouble with you is that you think you know all the answers.”
Blanchflower: “Ah, God love you, you don’t even know the questions.”

    11. “If we don’t know what we’re going to do, how can the other side?”

    10. “We aim to equalise before the other team score. We should get our retaliation in first.”

    9. Interviewer: “Well Danny, what is the secret to the Spurs winning every match so far this season?”

Danny: “Most probably because in each match we have scored more goals than our opponents.”

    8. “He is a self-made man who worships his creator.”

    7. “Football is a simple game made complicated by people who should know better.”

    6. Duchess of Kent (at 1961 FA Cup Final): “Why do the other team have their names on their tracksuits and yours’ don’t?”
Blanchflower: “Ah well, ma’am, you see we all know each other.”

    5. “Hoddle? No, it’s the bad players who are a luxury.”

Blanchflower: “Excuse me son, I haven’t read the programme yet. What’s your name?”

    2. “We’ve got a good side here. We will win the double this season (a successful prediction in 1960).”

    1. “The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.”
