If you need another reason to be on board with the Reguilon signing, search for his missus on Instagram - Marta Diaz (username is martaa_diiaz).

    Thank me later.

I'm 'enjoying ' all the twatters mentioning his age.
Where were they when Messi was joining $ity? 33 years old
Last year CR7 joined Juve. 34 at the time

It’s the Arsenal fans that have been the best, seen “washed up winger” has been used once or twice, like their club didn’t spend £72m on the expensive Bolasie last summer who looks to have been replaced in the XI by a 32 year old Willian.

Bale is younger than Aubameyang but the Arsenal fans don’t seem to realise that

maybe, but it's more of a case of is bale going down the same path of rooney, owen, ronaldinho and peaking too early.

Unfortunately for bale, he is somewhat injury prone and whether he can get back to his old levels is the big question mark as he's undoubtedly world class when he is on it

I'll be honest, and I promise this isn't me trying to be a 'salty Arsenal fan', but I really am not sure about how this will go.

It is potentially a high risk, high reward scenario for a year. That being said, having watched Bale at Madrid for the last couple years, he does appear to have lost a bit of the pace and dynamism he had in comparison to his final year with you.

Now, this decline in performance could be due to his lack of motivation as a result of the scornful treatment he's received from the Madrid fans, in addition to the press lambasting him at every opportunity. It could be because other managers don't know how or aren't willing to get the best out of him. It could also be due to the pile-up of injuries.

I could be wrong, but I don't think this version of Bale will be as influential as the Bale that left you.

It'd certainly bring back a feel good factor and sense of nostalgia. On paper, having a front three of Bale, Kane and Son can rival any front 3 in the world. In reality, I don't know if it'll materialise like this.

This might sound bizarre given what he's achieved overall in his career, but Bale will still have quite a bit to prove in terms of whether he's still 'got it'. Doing well in the past doesn't mean you'll do well in the future.

    Let's see.

He’s definitely not the same player he was when he left but it’s worth the risk because of who he is.

Even if he doesn’t play, it will boost the other players

I don't think you are being 'salty' at all - I think the points you make are valid.

I hope he comes to us stays fit and is motivated to prove that he still has that something special that stands the truly players out from the rest.

He should still be blessed with fabulous technique, and hopefully his vision and experience will help the team.

As you say only time will tell, but I don't think there are many deals we could do that would excite our fans more rightly or wrongly

I think when Bale was here, especially that final season, he established himself as the third best player in the world after Messi and Ronaldo, it’s what forced Madrid to part with a record fee at the time.

He’s had a rough time of it these last couple years but he’s still up there as one of the world’s best for me, not top 3 but always in the conversation as to being one of the genuine world class players around at the moment. Bringing that level of player to Tottenham is massive, we won’t be able to sign another player of that ilk because they’re all generally happy at their elite club already. He’s in a weird and unique situation where his manager/ club/ fans hate him and that works out well for any prospective buyer.

He also won’t just be bringing ability, he’ll be further boosting the club’s profile and that’s always another bonus factor when signing a top player.

Providing this happens and he doesn’t get **** luck with a long term injury, this is win-win for Spurs.

    Quick question guys -

As we all know Bale can play CF, would we have enough attacking options to rotate with Kane, Bale, Son, Lucas, Bergwijn, Lamela and Dele or do we still need another striker ?

If Bale and Regulion were our last business in this transfer window how would you mark it out of ten ?

Who the fack cares about league finishes apart from the money men, it is trophies that go down in history and what people remember. Levy has delivered one paltry League Cup in 20 years, and proceeded to sell our best players in the very next transfer window.

Nope, still need a natural striker.

If Bale and Reguilon are our last signings it’s a 9/10 window for the club. Another striker and it’s a 10. Will have arguably been our best ever window.

I’d still think the club need a ‘proper’ striker to help Kane.

Another CB too and then you could say the squad is ‘complete’

Then clear out unwanted players if possible.
