Dele’s on a decent wedge here that we’d be saving and I think you might be underestimating how poor he’s been for us for a while now. There are a fair few on here who would happily have seen him sold for a couple of years now if we’d have had a decent offer. If we get even half the player we used to have in Bale then that’s a lot more impact over the season than Dele has had for a few years now. That said and while this is a really exciting prospective deal I do also believe that going back is always difficult. And injuries are a concern.
If these deals go through how will our HG/CG quota be affected. I honestly think this is one of our bigger problems that people regularly forget when considering who we should buy. Dier and Davies being the problems
He shouldn't, Shaw should be and is. Williams is a young lad and a great back up to have, another season and he will be well ready for first choice.
That team is so exciting mate but with those two attacking fullbacks and presumably 3 up top at least two of the midfield three will have to be more defensive and sit back. Imo it will be Lo Celso OR N'Dombele, Hojberg and either Sissoko or Winks.
Believe me i am not underestimating how badly he has played for the last two years, that doesn't change the fact that losing Dele's wage bill and gaining half of Bales will cost you money and save Madrid a fair bunt. Plus, like i hinted, Dele will actually be available to play most of the time if called on
Truth be told it’s probably hard to know how much of it has been Bale being injured and how much of it has been him just either being left out by ZZ or making himself unavailable. If he passes a medical and commits to working hard on his fitness then that’s the best we can hope for.
I would have Dost in a heartbeat but we need another striker as well , Dost is the kind of player to bring on with 20 left and lump the ball up to him for Harry and or another to feed off , I'm just sick of watching this team run up against well drilled defences like we have for the last 10 years , players like him are also useful for seeing out a game , give it to them to hold onto the ball up field
We have missed out on the likes of Dybala, Fernandes, Moutinho, Mane etc etc due to Levy`s unwillingness to push the boat out, even slightly.
If Bale comes in, I can’t see both Lamela and Lucas remaining. Lucas seems liked by Jose so my money would be on Lamela leaving. Gazza, Aurier, Foyth and one of those two makes way for Reguilon and potentially a foreign striker. Bale being CG is actually added bonus to signing him.
True enough with the ZZ thing, for some reason he was just ignored by him. Clash of personalities, difference of opinion on position/style? Who knows but it was a definite freeze out.
Dybala rejected us mate, confirmed by Romano. As much as I’d have liked Bruno Fernandes, I think it was Fernandes or Lo Celso, never both. Mane also wanted silly money - more than Kane/ Vertonghen/ Lloris etc - in hindsight he’d have been worth it if he played like he has for Pool but I can understand the club not bowing to the demands, plus we’ve got Sonny, may not be as good but he’s still been brilliant for us. Moutinho admittedly we could’ve done more to acquire.
