Nah, **** that ****. Bale's literally just an albatross for them. They should be happy for us to take him. We shouldn't be helping them out and lending them a good player on top of it, even if people think he's lost his form.
Its only a loan maybe just what Dele needs to get his mojo back - he is not much to use us on current form and if the signings come off he is not a starter so if it sweetens the deal I say why not
Will you not let me have a moment of joy In all seriousness as highlighted in earlier posts the success of the whole thing lies on him getting fit and staying fit. If he can do that he’ll have a greater impact than Dele over the course of a season, and the latter might find his mojo again with a change of scene. We’ve got 4 players who could comfortably play 10 as it is and if we’re transitioning to having attacking full backs down both sides with Reguilón, then we only need to play 1 per game.
I agree, keep hold of Dele and get Bale in. Signing Bale but losing Dele (albeit he’s been pants for ages) is annoying. Especially if Bale brings his injury record from Madrid with him.
If we do transition to 433 once Lo Celso is fit and if Tanguy gets his chance to prove himself, it also makes the number ten role redundant which further makes Dele’s departure easier. Hugo Doherty, CB, CB, Reguilon Lo Celso, Hojbjerg, Ndombele Bale, Kane, Son You can’t not get excited about that.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54171049 Featuring quote from Bale’s agent to bbc Wales. "Gareth still loves Spurs," his agent Jonathan Barnett told BBC Sport Wales. "We are talking [Spurs, Real and Bale's camp]. It's where he wants to be."
For years he’s categorically denied any rumours Bale would leave, he’s also an Arsenal fan IIRC too, so if he’s said that, I think it’s a very strong possibility of happening. Whilst nothing is done yet with any player, I did say a couple weeks back I had a feeling we were “pulling an Arsenal” by acting skint for the most part then exploding like they did with Pepe/ Luiz etc. Could be a massive window for the club if we pull these deals off, massive.
Barnett's a massive prick, though. We'll see what happens. He knows that Bale needs to play football if he wants to earn serious money after his Real contract expires. Getting him out of the club while still getting the full whack on his wages is definitely in his best interests. Going to America or China in a couple of years and getting even more money is probably his aim in the long term.
Fabrizio Romano saying the reason why you’ve edged ahead of United in the race for Reguilon is because Real Madrid want to include two clauses in the deal, which United rejected but Spurs have agreed to. The first clause is a pre-emption clause, which effectively means they have first refusal on Reguilon in the future. The second clause is a buy-back clause (presumably not much different to the €30m fee you’ve offered for him). If this is true, I totally understand why United have pulled out of the deal. If he does well, they can basically sign him back for cheap. Risky.
It wouldn't suit Man Utd at all and it's a big risk for us, but if it's that or we don't sign him, then I can see why we'd accept it. A two year loan that we get paid £10m for? Gives us an opportunity to strengthen elsewhere during the current financial puzzle. The pre-emption clause isn't an issue, really. He loves Madrid anyway, so they'd be his first choice in any transfer. I wouldn't even count that as being relevant, to be honest.
Are you? Shaw is injury-prone and most United fans (that I’ve spoken to anyway) have said that Williams shouldn’t be first choice. And, by most reliable accounts, you were keen on signing Reguilon. You just don’t want to get mugged off if he does well. Understandably.
You wouldn't be looking at him if your club thought that they were fine for left-backs. You'll probably sign someone else if you don't get him. Alex Telles has been suggested and his price is spiralling down by the week. I don't know which one of them is better. Probably Telles right now, but he's a fair few years older.
Great...so we now rescue Bale (who ain't played all 2020 bar for Wales and about 80 mins for Madrid), help out Madrid by riding them of a player they are desperate to dump and with the money they save they get one of our players. Crock of **** imho. And that's without taking into account the fact that Bale treated the club like **** as he left.
So this hour's striker we're being linked with is please log in to view this image Wolfsburg's Dutch striker Wout Weghorst While it's probably wise not to look into it as we'll probably be linked with half a dozen more strikers by Friday, Weghorst seems like a moneyball option as he's 6'6" and both a threat in the air and also a handful for defenders to deal with, he's 26 so is a good age, he won't be expensive as Wolfsburg pay him £56k p/w, but most importantly his scoring stats are a pretty consistent 1 in 2, as his last four seasons document AZ Alkmaar 2016-17: 13 in 29 2017-18: 18 in 31 Wolfsburg 2018-19: 17 in 34 2019-20: 16 in 32 The only obvious drawback was that, when he was at AZ, he seemed to be living under the impression that he was Rachel Stevens please log in to view this image
