Yes and that shows how short we are for defenders. We need to sign exactly what you said a centre back who can play left back. Alioski is no defender and douglas is slow.
We are signing a player called Berardi at the end of the month, bit of a legend at his last club so I understand.
I noticed that too. No Leif Davis either. I only got a couple of glances at the game & only know we appeared to play 3 at the back. Hosannah was one of them. Who were the other two? Any idea? I couldn't work it out.
He's played for us a few times, with due aplomb. He's played more as a left sided CB in a 3 than a LB so far. Not sure where Bielsa visualises him these days. He's the fastest player we've got, btw. I remember his debut. He was responsible for 2 goals against. I inadvertently ran into his agent at the next u23 game (can't remember his name - was a Blades striker, I'm sure he said). The burning question for me was his reaction to the 2 cockups. Apparently he was spot on in handling it, which in my view put him years ahead of where he should have been, mentally, at that age. Fabulous prospect imo, & I believe is ready to really break through into the team, given the chance.
I laughed then thought "****, what if he's right?", & had a look back. Think I was on the ball, but it's getting near nap time, so can't be sure.
You never know with that London geezer Obviously haven't seen as much of Davis as you but from what I have seen I'd say if he's fit he's ready.
Young Dramah & young Huggins I believe I also think it was Cody Dramah and Huggins that gifted the breakaway goals in the second half. A bit unfair to play a back 3 with no back 3 we had 2 very good full backs playing CB and a midfield player doung his bit of suicide too
Just shows how I've put last season to bed as I'd forgotten Hull were relegated!. It will be game time for a lot of the players who weren't involved on Saturday but Bielsa normally keeps a few from that team who keep their place.
The last pre season friendly (against the Portugese side) he played left side centre back 1st half and then was switched to left back for the second. Did fine in both positions but obvioulsy Bielsa wanted to see him perform both roles. Personally think he's more chance of getting game time at LB and his pace could be more of an asset there. Although given teachers pet is in the left back role at present that's unlikely on second thoughts
No, his injury isn't as bad as first thought, and they are giving him a one year. Or did I dream this ?
