Literally being linked with anyone now. Bas Dost is pants, even when desperate for a striker I can’t see Spurs signing someone that bad even if it is cheap
Dost would fit the profile of striker Jose likes. He’s basically the Dutch Llorente. Wouldn’t say no to him, great scoring record too.
It's a bizarre mix this window of getting sensible business done early, then a massive delay on a hugely important part of the puzzle. I accept that getting another decent striker given the profile of Kane is a tricky sell but it surely can't be impossible.
im sure Mitrovich would prefer our bench instead of Fulham’s I know I bang on about it(and will probably carry on doing so) but there's a lack of ambition from the top and it’s costing us dearly in the grand scheme of things...not many are being objective enough to see this imo 37 games to go...let’s hope this loss was a kick up the backside and a wake up call. I feel like moaning about why they need wake up calls but I won’t
Along with his first opening day loss yesterday JM is destined to break allsorts of shameful records with our stale lifeless group of players
If Levy had the same discernment for high quality with the squad, as he has for high quality in the stadium and the training ground, we’d be alright. So much attention to detail and evidence that ‘only the best will do for the club’ in the designs, with no expense spared. I just don’t hear that narrative when it comes to players. Instead the talk of how hard it is to find players who wanna come. Nonsense. Sell the vision better. I believe we’ve had two options since we reached our heights a few seasons back. Either aggressively get all of the best youth, Eze, Watkins etc. Or get solid seasoned improvements on our best outgoing players, Walker, Dembele, Wanyama, Eriksen for Bruno Fernandes etc. We did neither, we’ve fallen short in both areas. Sad really. At least evidence will show, if Mourinho fails here, it’s down to Levy and recruitment being substandard. Where is the vision for the squad? Levy sort it out!
This window needed 4-5 first team players in. The club got 2 in and then it all went quiet. The season has now started and already the lack of business in certain areas has cost the club points. Who’s to say new striker wouldn’t have come off the bench and snatched an equaliser at the weekend?
Who's to say he would have? Lack of business is not what cost us three points. Playing badly is what cost us the points. (Plus bringing on Sissoko for Dele.) Blame it on the fact that the majority of our players had been on an international break as opposed to Everton's players training with each other. Blame it on the fact that some of our players tested positive and had not trained properly.
Do you not think it’s just desperation (if true)? I still think it’s just lazy paper talk and they’re linking Spurs with any striker now
It’s ****in embarrassing tbh ive heard some Spurs fans say anyone will do they just need a spot occupying. shambles
What’s desperate about it though? His goal record is exceptional and he’s done it in three different leagues. It’s hard to say if it’s a random link or not but I’m not sure why there’s negativity surrounding it. 228 goals in 437 games.
I’d sell Dele to get major funds think he’s lost the eye of the tiger, too interested in other things
Because he’s not good enough, Spurs can’t keep signing mediocre players and expect the team to improve. I’m not proud of this and don’t often agree with him but O’Hara is bang on here
If a guy with that sort of goal goal record isn’t good enough then I’m not sure who is good enough. He’s proven himself in different countries and different leagues with a really good goals to games ratio.
Would anyone sign him for big money though? Dele from 2017 had the world at this feet, since then injuries and loss of form have made him look like a passenger.
