I am on lates this week, and I thought it was a good idea to take the wife to work this morning to save her getting a taxi.

    I must be mad.

No chance they’d be able to afford him.

Always rated Loftus-Cheek and he looked really promising when at Palace (and for a brief spell after that for Chelsea), but not really done much since his injury, so he has something to prove.

Also - I think his injury came in the game where Chelsea randomly went and played a friendly in America while the season was still going and they had a week free? Or was it just before the Europa League final? Madness either way.

I’d like Loftus-Cheek here. I’ve mentioned him a few times as someone we should be in with a change of getting if Chelsea let him go.

I don’t think he will come here, he is on a reported £120,000 a week ........we can’t afford that.

I didn’t need to go to Singapore for that - only Havant RFC in the 70s and 80s :emoticon-0102-bigsm

If they wanted Ings surely they needed to move earlier in the window.

Also I can’t imagine us letting him go for less than £60m-£70m, doesn’t feel very Levy like.

(In before Saints sell him for £30m two days before the end of the window and don’t replace him).

Perhaps Chelsea could pay him the £100k and we'd meet the rest? :emoticon-0105-wink:

Can't see this deal really working for anyone.

Ings would go from playing back-up to Kane for England to doing it every week for Spurs. It wouldn't even be a huge payday at either -you'd like to think we would be able to pay our best player at least a similar wage to what Spurs would pay their back-up striker.

Transfer wise, spurs would need to pay close to their record transfer (£54m) - would they really do that for a 28 year old player they know would only ever be back up to Kane? I have my doubts.

...and I don't think I need to explain why this move wouldn't work for Saints!!

Money would be much higher than spurs would pay for us to part with a player virtually essential to us. How much would we have to pay to get a replacement striker once everyone knew we had the ing,s money. Only way this would happen is if Ings kicked off and can’t see that happening.

Looking at Spurs recent underwhelming transfer activity, I honestly don’t think they can afford Ings. And not just in terms of the relative value of the player to both clubs but in actual pounds shillings and pence. I find it hard to credit that PEH and Doherty were Mourinho’s first choices for the window. That they were choices at all for that matter. My speculation may be wide of the mark but I think their transfer kitty cupboard is as bare as their trophy room.
