It's always amazed me that football clubs don't take advantage of the power of music to psyche up fans for a match. I remember seeing the charity playlists the players did a while back (where I discovered Rosicky's metal tastes) and one song of each playlist went on pre match. So here is my playlist, feel free to comment on my tastes. I'm a ska head. If And When We Rise Again- Streetlight Manifesto The build up is great but it should be cut a little short as part of the lyrics go "please excuse my enemies I think they do not know, I will gladly self destruct if they leave me alone" On second thoughts it's not such a great song for this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjPrrw1mHaY Somewhere In The Between- Streetlight Manifesto A surprisingly appropriate song for Arsenal fans. Lyrics include: "If some will complain, they're just bitter, what a shame They know that loving and losing is better than nothing at all Maybe the times we had, they weren't that bad And everything else was part of our path We sang: "I don't know where we go from here" This is the anthem, the slogan, the summary of events And we all just idealize the past So you were born (So you were born), and that was a good day Someday you'll die (Someday you'll die), and that is a shame But somewhere in the between was a life of which we all dream And nothing and no one will ever take that away" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q5mFjnj4j2w The Story So Far- [spunge] Again, appropriate lyrics. A bit lighter than the other two, but nonetheless a great prematch song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MH7nkGKrOts The video is a bit weird, but the song's right. Tension- Suburban Rhythm Awesome band, didn't lasted very long. But the heavy bass makes this song perfect for building up the atmosphere. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hExMDNX_hVw Gainesville Rock City- Less Than Jake Not a huge amount lyrically, but musically it works pretty well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVE5dOyqPQg&feature=related Awfully Quiet- Mighty Mighty Bosstones "I like noise it's gonna be loud!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjMnUk6VWVs Anti songs...Ones which wouldn't be so smart. Cheer Up- Reel Big Fish "I've got a funny feeling, we're all born to lose" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcpGGoQLzVk Not so much my taste but still anti-ones I'm Gonna Start a Fight- Katy Perry I Predict A Riot- Kaiser Chiefs So what are your playlists? I admit that this was partly an excuse to show you guys what I like and to find out the music tastes of this forum. So post songs that would actually work. I could have put in Nervous In The Alley- Less Than Jake, but it would have been a little pointless.
We don't need a playlist - just in case you hadn't noticed. As for the Bluenoses then you'll have to ask them - if you can find them.
Instead of throwing your toys out of your pram, you could just acknowledge we do utilise music before a match to psych up the fans.
The point of the thread was more to get people's music tastes. As long as the songs fit the bill that is.
Or perhaps you could learn how to write a thread properly. Look at the title. Mate, we've already got a music thread. You should have kept this to your own board, or at least off of ours. Check if there's a thread of the same type before you go posting everywhere.
At Liverpool, The Kop will decide what songs are going to be sung. Nobody tells them what to sing or when. WE create the atmosphere and neither want or need somebody to orchestrate an 'atmosphere'. That is were you are making your mistake
The subs bench should control the songs. But then we'd just get songs like "Fabianski is better than Szczesny" and "Pick me boss!"
Well it's a hell of a lot better than being one of a flock of sheep who merely do what they are told - and call it passion!
Tripping the cliches out for fun today aren't you Dave? Do you honestly think anyone buys this bollocks?
What about "Dont have any more Mrs Moore" , "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts" and even "The Laughing Policeman"? Some oldies but goodies!
Awww a party for the former top 4. Not that we were asked but we tend to sing before, during and after the game. Perhaps Arsenal fans might try doing that someday.
