Looks too similar to what we have already.... I'd take a big PL top six youngster (19-21yrs) on loan, looking to make a breakthrough... To play alongside KLP.
He was injured last week, but McCant said he would be fit for this week, thought he might have started when he said that.
He didn't make the bench today, it obvious the guy has talent and skill, but I don't think he will enjoy life in 3rd tier football. I think the style of football played in the 3rd tier was best summed up today when Steve Evans shouted at his midfielders in the 2nd half 'to stop playing football!!'
I know we won and I know people are been positive about it, I got a bit of stick earlier because I wasn’t as positive or because I didn’t think it was 10x better than last season. But the standard of today’s game was terrible
The standard was terrible but it's where we are, we are going to see the worst football we have seen for 15odd years this season, but hopefully if we go on a decent run and are challenging at the top end of the table, it will at least have some feel good factor about it compared to the last few seasons of just barely clinging on
I agree although I’d say longer than 15 years, the team we had in l1 last time was better than this and I’m sure as we go along will see they played better football. I don’t think that performance today would have got us a win in the chapionship
The standard isn't helped by the fact that Stadiums are empty, echoing to the sound of instruction from the sidelines only.Yes,this is where we are,we failed miserably last year and compounded the misery with one of the biggest soul destroying defeats that we're ever likely to witness. I take comfort in the fact that at least we look like we have players who actually give a phuck this season.
Just listen to a radio interview with Matt Taylor (Exeter's manager) , he say's that William's is in talks with two clubs and that he will decide over the weekend which one he want to go too, a bit different to what McCann said in his presser.
In the Yorkshire post... Leeds United’s Jordan Stevens is said to be clear to exit to Swindon Town on loan this week. The Whites are also due to decide on Robbie Gotts with Hull City now ‘back in’ as well as Huddersfield Town. (The Sun)
Gotts is a CM/RB though, so I don't think that's who McCann was referring to. I know he's trying for another CM, but I can't see him choosing us over Huddersfield. Also, is he going to displace any of our middle three after yesterday's win? From what I saw, I think Jones could probably do a job as cover.
