Only problem with that quote is my team (Gills) are not the same team that finished last season. We probably dumped most of our players off the payroll, due to no football because of covid, hence the financial implications on lower league clubs. I think we were left with something like a squad of seven players, even one of those has since departed. I actually cheered when we had a squad of eleven, which meant we only needed to find someone for the subs bench. So the team is now made up with loans, from the development sides of Arsenal, Spurs and Celtic, therefore any comparisons with last season are pretty null and void, unless the quote is referring to the ability of the manager to build a side, which I wouldn't dispute. Yeah what we showed wasn't much, but it's all we can afford. No disrespect to your guys by the way, who fully deserved to win.

McCann also said that the gills manager has a good record of getting teams out of this league, which if true he should be at the kc com, getting us out, because McCant couldn't find his way out of a paper bag.

We're signing a winger, he should be in by Monday, but it's not the lad from Bristol City

    Who is it?

    Can't say at the minute

What league are they coming from?

Er, you'll find out on Monday

    Has a fee been agreed?

    Yes

    Has the player agreed terms?

    Yes

    Has he passed a medical?

    Yes

You might as well tell us who it is then...

Well, no, I've seen these things go south before

I hated Steve Evans when he came to us, we had past history after his exploits at Crawley and Rotherham. Also he had some irregularities tarnishing his record from I think it may have been Boston. He was also dismissed from the Posh directly before us, although he would strongly deny any disharmony.

However, all said and done, Steve Evans has done a fantastic job at our place.

I think his record if followed aside from all the crap that went before him, would benefit a club like Hull, but like us you would have to keep a tight reign on him. By that he knows we won't take any shhite at our club. We don't have money, so he won't get none and he knows that from past fan forums.

He actually has to use his managment skills with the best we got, and to be fair to him, he's managed that better than many a past manager. Also we don't tolerate any of that touch line carry-on that we saw from Paul Raynor today, normally associated with Evans, soon has he starts going down that road, he's out of control, there are times and places for it, today was not one of those days, you were clearly the better side.

We went one better than that, I think it was while he was at Rotherham, our club made the headlines after three fans were arrested (one of them a member of this forum), for what was deemed a racial remark, their offence, calling him a 'Fat Scottish ****er' - true story, thankfully Evans refused to acknowledge any charges against the supporters and they were released. It appears it was regarded as racist for including the word 'Scottish.' - There ends the days of banter, as that was a regular chant from the Rainham End (Gills home end) when ever he visited. If you type that chant into google, a Spiked article will give you the full story.

My payment went through okay, but for the first 20 minutes it didn't work, even though I rebooted both the computer as well as the internet but then it started. After that it was fine.

I'm not sure how the stream at home games works with members.

I guess the only radio station you might have got it on is the local BBC station in Kent.

I agree it would be their shirt now to lose. Emmanuel going forward looks a threat, and Fleming was solid all game.

I know this might be a stupid question, but is this mirror app downloaded onto the TV or the device you are using for the stream?

Not a stupid question at all John, just a question you're not sure the answer to! And, I didn't make it really clear! If you're using an ios device i.e. a Mac, Macbook, an iPad or any apple device you can download an app for all apple devices from the app store. In turn, you choose the app that's set up for your TV. So, for me it was the LG version. See below.

Talk seems to be about City beating a poor side yesterday but we can only take on what’s in front of us and let’s face it...after the car crash of last season in the Championship where we basically ended up embarrassing ourselves any win has to be a good one for team moral and hopefully something to take into the next league game.

The only downside was Paul Cook on Quest suggesting that a City win at Gillingham, makes us candidates for a swift return.
Hell of a long way to go, 45 games to be precise, assuming the season is completed.

Winning starts are great but I also have serious concerns about what lies ahead over the coming months for us all let alone football.

Sometimes we are one of those teams, no matter what happens, people will complain. Before the game, everyone was saying Gillingham were one of the top sides, but then it comes out they got rid of loads of players, we play them & they’re garbage, in turn, we’re still garbage.
I’m not saying in a million years, we are brilliant & going back up. I didn’t see the game, hear the game, only read about it & seen the stats.
IMO, McCant has a long way to go, to prove himself after last season. His interview with Burnsy, still rubbish, but, if he proves me wrong, I’ll hold my hands up & start using his real name.
If we’d have lost, then I’d probably be complaining like mad, but the win, I’m not going to jump for joy though, as it’s only 1 game.
