In his post match interview when Mancini was asked whether Tevez would play again he said "I don't know, I don't decide this team". Surely that suggests that the team is dictated more by the owners than by the Manager? I haven't seen anyone picking up on this. The way things are going I can see Man City imploding and the title being between Man Utd and Chelsea.
He said that he doesn't decide the team and that IF it was up to him Tevez wouldn't play again. Suggests he doesn't have as much power over the team as a manager should have.
Have you got a clip of this? I've not exactly studied it but do recall him saying that 'he is finished with me' or along those lies. Can't say I recall him saying what you're quoting but probably haven't seen the whole interview. I can't see him being forced to pick him when the team clearly does perfectly ok without him and that he is also a disruptive influence. I wish he was forced to pick him!
Nah, it looks to me like he was suggesting he doesn't decide if he gets transfered, it was answered without much thought. Changing to subject a bit though, Mancini has had work on his eyes, eh? Definite alterations going on there, vain old bastard.
Mancini has some input on the team but anyone who thinks hes got 100% control is a moron. After all, Tevez was suspended for only 2 weeks by the club. The idea that he wont play again under Mancini doesnt seem to go along with the owners opinion does it. As we all know clubs run this way always fail so whoever said City will become a force, back in your hole you go.
All that money and a very good squad. Mancini is the weak link imo he's to negative and has no people skills. Long may he remain at the helm, if they get the right manager they get the league.
He used to be on the negative side but that has changed, as for his lack of people skills he has managed to get a new team of players to play together and in a very short period of time get them into into the CL and joint top of the PL.
To me that interview looks like him saying Tevez will never play under him again, but he can't categorically say he'll never play for City again. In other words, maybe it was Mancini's way of saying to the owners "If you let Tevez get away with this, I'm leaving", without actually making the threat explicit in a way the press would jump on it.
Seems to me the OP is lookin to be spit roasted by Tevez and Mancini he goes on about them that much.
I'm still undecided on Mancini. In the big games he has seemed to hold back and hope for a draw. I think in the FA Cup semi he only went all out when Scholes was sent off and from then on they were the better side. I have been very surprised how they have brushed sides like Blackburn and Spurs aside away from home because last season they would have struggled. The only time City have gone all out from the start against United since Mancini was in charge was the 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford last season and they were very impressive. It will be interesting to see how they set up in 3 weeks. I think in Europe Mancini's negative tactics will be their undoing. At home they should be fine, at least against Villarreal but away from home I can't see them winning in Spain or at Napoli to be honest and they would be lucky to actually beat Bayern Munich at home. Hopefully they do carry on in Europe because a City side that just has to concentrate on the league will be very dangerous. They may not have a great record in the big games but they look as though they will swat aside every other side and that is something United have been good at for years.
