Unbelievable! He's the worst player I've seen at the KC this season! I bet the Newcastle fans are delighted haha Carroll for Kuqi. I might back Kuqi not to score for the rest of the season! Reckon I could be onto a winner!

awful signing he should be at league 1 level.. a 34 year old who's last appearance in the PL was on loan at Fulham in 2007/8 10 appearances and no goals.. I truly don't see him worrying PL defences.. I mean Jan Vanegoor of Hesselink would have been a better option!

It's a bizarre signing, I know they can only sign free agents at the moment, but you'd think they could still do better.

They might as well have brought back Albert Luque, who's a free agent, younger and has a better pedigree(hell, even Mark Viduka would probably be a better bet).

I feel sorry for Pardew he finds out hours before the deadline he is losing his best striker and not replace him now he has to get Kuqi. Its understandable that they went for him as doubt many others would want to go to Newcastle on a 3 month deal or whatever it is.

Surely they have a youngster at the club who would be a better bet.

    HAHA! - Someone's updated his wiki page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shefki_Kuqi

    In case it gets removed:

    Newcastle United
On 10 February 2011 Kuqi joined Premier League side Newcastle United with the contract lasting for the remainder of the season. Although certainly one of the fattest players to pull on the black and white jersey in recent times, Kuqi could hardly be a worse signing than horse bothering, pygmy Michael Owen. [7]

They should have borrowed Folan off us, surely he is better than Kuqi?

They can't because of the transfer window. It's only FL clubs that can have the emergency loans.

I thought Liverpool had made the worst transfer move of the season replacing Torres with Carroll (Suarez was already being signed before Torres was leaving).
I'm not sure if replacing a £35M striker with a Swanea reject tops it, I think the extra £21M in the bank (Liverpool making £14M on their deal) might just mean they avoid taking that accolade.
