Feel we are entering a second phase of season. In first 2 months we were on fire putting all our chances away and catching everyone by surprise. We are making the chances but not converting them (bit like the England rugby team I'm watching). Now, as some players briefly flag, it's a chance for others to get starts and show the depth in the squad. Nigel will need all his footballing nous. I've gone for a draw today, but hoping we continue our home form which will be vital as always.
Aren't any must-win games this time of the year, but this one is close. Our October fixtures are so difficult that it is really essential that we come out of this one with some confidence. Going to say 4-2, two for Lallana, Lambert, and one for Fonte off a set piece.
Be glad of a 1.0 but, although greedy, would also like our goal difference improved. Our superior goal difference has kept us at the top despite losing...could prove to be important at end of season whether it's for auto or getting into 6th place.
If we're still in the top 3 come the end of October, I'll be over the moon. Derby, West Ham, Reading, Boro is indeed a very difficult month, and so yes today is important. It's not unrealistic to say we might not win a game in October, should we slip up today. Come November and December though, and the fixtures do get a little kinder - at least for this league any way. Brighton, Hull and Blackpool are the only teams that stand out, and all of them are at home - and if we can beat Leeds, Forest and Brum at home, we can beat them. But you don't want to go into any of the games during those two months short on form and confidence, and without a win since Brum in mid September.

Well that's 3 points for me (and a lot of others) in the prediction league! Good old Rickie, wonder what his percentage is now? (Calm down Beddy, I'm only joking!) Just need another 3 goals from Saints without reply for the second 3 points.
Lallana and Lambert have really zeroed in on the woodwork in the last few games. No points for knocking the goal over, though.
Teams seem to have worked out that Saints seem to be vulnerable to long ball over the top. Basic tactic but it seems to work for Cardiff and to be working for Watford.
I'm at the game and its very very even they really should of put away an early chance buuut fox is playing well! Credit the boy!
