My feeling is that he would be better than Gao, albeit probably not a long-term owner that's going to have the club for a decade or so. He's probably right that he can negotiate a good price on us right now, improve our squad and watch our value climb post-COVID if Ralph is supported.
That is more reassuring than i thought.. Personally the thing for me is, I hope it isnt a owner that is hands on.. And happy to allow Semmens and Ralph do there job they are doing. I dont want to be used like a toy.
A read on DaGrosa - with quotes on his plans to buy a club: https://soccer.nbcsports.com/2020/0...league-la-liga-newcastle-bordeaux-getafe-mls/
Indeed! Saints web dragging all sorts up on DeGrosa. Best Snippets ‘he’s the American Mike Ashley ‘ And ‘Newcastle dodged a bullet’
https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/socc...ue-la-liga-newcastle-bordeaux-getafe-mls/amp/ This makes him sound reasonably promising.
He's a businessman, and he isn't coming to the PL to throw away money. But he also demonstrably *has* money, which is a substantive improvement, because he's unlikely to find himself without available liquidity. Which remains a real concern with Gao.
Has he ever admitted bribery in court of law and resultingly got his co-defendant executed? Nope? Huge improvement.
Having read the article and a few other bits and pieces I'd say that it's nothing to get hugely excited about. Interested to see if he has the debt from borrowing against the club ala Glazer. But like I say it's not Gao so I'm all for it.
Sounds a bit dodgy that he will have to borrow to buy us and that we are already in debt - so where is the rest of the investment coming from? As some have said, he isn't Gao, which is a good thing. But let's remember that Gao isn't the worst owner a football club can have. It is annoying that he does not invest in us at all, but at least he is not taking money out of the club! With takeovers it is pretty tough to say whether it will be good/bad for the club until it actually happens - time will tell what this actually means.
A change in ownership right now could be disastrous for us. We currently have a clear philosophy on how the club should be run and the board has freedom to get on with it. As a result, we are going places. Any new owners will have new ideas which will inevitably reduce the freedom Semmens and Ralph have.
Copied from elsewhere.... New take off talks !!! After a quick google CARFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR !! DaGrosa only had Bordeaux 18 months before he sold it on for more money. In that time DaGrosa sold players and overstated how profitable it would become. After months of turbulence and an unpopular figure, he was subject to protests from the fans which lead to him selling to a US oil company. He is also showing interest in Roma and Newcastle according to the media https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...lks-former-Bordeaux-owner-Joseph-DaGrosa.html
Humans are hardwired to fear anything or anyone strange....add in the Saints fan factor and we should all get in supplies of extra underwear. Ask me what I think about it in a year or two (if it happens).
Almost as bad as LD Sports: https://kapitalfootballgroup.com/#About Also they they have Landon Donavan as a senior adviser.
Do you not worry about the current owners and financial position? you used “could” quite correctly when referring to “disastrous” and that also should go with “any new owners will have new ideas which will....” That could. Let’s not jump to those assumptions yet. Best to wait and see
