I'm not sure I get what you're suggesting. I'd argue it has worked for United and Chelsea to a lesser extent. Spurs fans don't really have a single popular fan channel. They have individuals like Expressions, WeAreTottenhamTV and blokes like that George Achilea/Craig Mitcham, but there's not one Spurs channel that monopolises the scene. But primarily, it hasn't worked with other fanbases because none of them garner the attention AFTV's done since it began. AFTV seem to have a reputation for having fans that overreact every week and fans take the piss. Other fans don't seem to get that label stuck to them or they don't get the same enjoyment from winding them up.
But they're not an embarrassment to Arsenal are they? They are not an official club outlet (which is why they are now known as AFTV), they are a group of lads who got together with an idea that has gained over a million registered viewers. I watch it for free as do most people, if they can entertain enough people to make it worth advertisers paying them then well done.
You tell me lol. Are you suggesting it's because our fans are easier to piss off than other fanbases? That we're more highly strung, so opposition fans get more of a thrill from taking the mick out of us?
When did I say anything of the sort or even hint at it? They got sued for using their name, FFS. The fans are part of the club, though. Take Millwall, for example. You don't consider them without the image of the fans.
But surely, this is down to perception? If BluesFansTV or WestHamTV or whatever club out there began before AFTV, there would be just as many wound up, irate fans recorded on there as there are with us. You get pissed off fans in every fanbase that ramble about ****. AFTV just happened to be the first one of its kind and kicked off from there. With you lot, it's hard to say because you've never had a single fan channel dedicated to getting the reaction of different Spurs fans. It's all individuals like I mentioned above. I'd love to know what would happen if you did, though.
When you said they were an embarrassment to Arsenal mate. Fair enough though if you want your club to take ownership of every one of your fans
West Ham Fan TV has the same format, some similar idiots at times, but isn't as bad. Astro-****ing-Goo-Goo bloke aside, of course. AFTV's problem is that they're virtually all idiots. There was a Spurs one, but everyone ****ed it off and it died.
So random Arsenal fans are an embarrassment to the club but random Spurs fans aren't? If so, then i will admit i am wrong.
Do you not think part of this is down to how big our fanbase is? The more fans you have, the more idiots you'll have. For what it's worth, you do also get plenty of Arsenal fans on Twitter moaning about AFTV and how they don't represent the fanbase collectively. It gets criticised a lot by our own.
