Sky reporting as if the premier league asking other information can move it to the next stage.. Im amazed they haven't figured out that they're asking for the information they need to legally fail the takeover rather than to pass it.. How can anyone not have figured that out?
Can't be said as it's libellous, no matter how obvious. As you rightly say, the PL wanted PCP to say KSA would own the club so they could then say "State's can't own club, fail". Instead, PCP got letter from office of MBS saying "PIF is entirely separate", PL chose to disagree "in their opinion". Their "board" (of 2) agreed this. Complete impasse. However, legally the PL are at fault. They have used their opinion - which isn't objective, it's subjective - to block it from progressing. This is illegal in a number of ways, hence why Ashley has released his statement. Their problem is his statement is almost certainly more accurate and is far more revealing than their reply. His sets up legal challenge, theirs buries them further. They are a pissy little bunch of idiots, way out of their depth.

It's SO much karma. The PL sat idly by, allowing Ashley to run NUFC like a ****ing poundshop. It is beyond ironic that they have to now try and weather the Ashley ****storm coming their way.
What I don’t get is why the process lasted months before they decided to ask who will own the club. Surely in a test of owners it’s the first thing you sort out, who you’re actually doing the ******* test on. They’ve been desperate to fail this all along and grasped desperately at this when the wto report didn’t help them.
I think they've just taken the absolute piss! from day 1 they decided this is how they'd deal with it.. They realised the didn't want to pass it, but didn't find anything they could legally fail it on, so they opted to hide behind lack of information or not being satisfied with something and just dug heir heels in and refused to do anything... The fact it didn't come to light was only due to the pif and stavely letting us know otherwise they intended to sit on it forever if necessary.. As they still are now
It's all gone incredibly quiet since the PL statement... Reporters are all sniffing around, so I expect something will break on this either late tonight or tomorrow morning
