That guys spelling of Boubakary Soumare is dreadful, why's everyone on Twitter misspelling his name?

    Is it a French thing?

Hm, evidence would suggest that we are done with any takeover for the time being.

But I must admit what's happening at the club right now is very promising. At Newcastle I've learnt to take each window as they come and review them separately, if we pull off a big money transfer like this I'll be very, very pleased.

It's great right now, but no doubt unsustainable spending... I don't think he spend again for years if he spends 50 to 70 million.... The Saudis would've don't that every year, but tbh I'm sick of this takeover... Exhausted of it... Just want to watch the season, hope we stay up and hope some other group comes along..

I think it's sustainable depending on his future objectives, if we continue to play in the premier league, the club will continue to pay for itself.

If we are supported by Ashleys other business ventures, we can even push on further up the league - compete with wealthier clubs.

For circa 4 years we have been operating purely as a side project, I'm talking about the McClaren tenure and the Rafa years. He simply was not interested at all, he seems to have been spur'd on by the Rafa leaving fiasco, in some semi vein attempt to prove Rafa wrong I imagine, now this takeover saga in which fans have actually backed the man he's maintained his interest in the club.

If the fans have another meltdown over something ****ing stupid - which they most certainly will this season, he'll walk off again. simple as

I also am aware that interest waned during the Pardew years too, happy to let the club continue. But we weren't doing too bad then so I can understand his logic, Ashley's care for the club hit the absolute pits after Pardew walked and McClaren signed up. Carver being manager for months is kinda the proof of that.

Say what you want about Ashley, but he figured out many years ago that he can't compete with the top half... He knows it's a waste of time..

He's said it as plainly as humanly possible. People portray the fella as some snake in the grass, he's never lied in an interview as far as I'm aware.

He's said a plethora of times he can't compete with countries, the only time I've seen him get carried away in an interview is when we survived against West Ham. Stating Champions League and trophies were the goal. Nonsense.

Football is absolutely ****e days for all clubs outside the top 6... Wolves Everton and Leicester are going to fail to stay up there and end up riddled with debt in a desperate situation somewhere along the line

It’s only a good sign if it’s true and then actually happens.

    Wrong about Rogerio.

Doubt we’d increase Marty’s wages give him the number four then spunk £35m on a midfielder.

I suspect he was right but then Norwich lowered the asking price for Lewis and Newcastle left him hanging.

Regardless they've rejected it and we already know the player doesn't want come here..
