Micheal Schumacher seems to have made a massive improvement on last year, his starts and 1st lap overtakes are bringing the proper results home. He appears to be on par with Nico Rosberg race pase wise now although Rosberg seems to still have a slight edge in quallifying.

For me Rosberg is driving to the same level as last year despite having 3 less point scoring finishes and no podiums so far. Schumacher has claimed Mercedes highest finish this year with 4th at Canada but Rosberg is 10 points ahead of him and that should really be a few more as Rosberg qualiffied ahead and was ahead into the first corner of Monza before Liuzzi took him out allowing Schuamcher to get his joint second best result of the year with a Rosberg DNF.

So which driver do you think will triumph by the end of the year?

If law of averages comes in and Rosberg gets some luck for the first time in his life, he will beat Schumacher.

    Rosberg.
He is the better driver and has shown
recently that he can fight on track more than he used to.
But he would do well to study Schumacher's start telemetry

I wonder who that could be?

I think Schuey has the experience and bravado to muscle thru' as the red lights go. But he can be a casualty as a result.
Rosberg ought to avoid people and plan for the long haul (ie get to finish).
    Rosberg for me.....

    I voted for Schumacher.

I thought I had already posted a comment. My main points were Schumi's strong race pace, good starts and determination. Rosberg is more consistent but with Schumacher so close to beating his teammate, I feel that he will up his game in the final races.

Voted too close to call, but in hindsight should have gone for Rosberg. Schumacher is the better driver right now, but if nothing goes wrong for either driver you would expect them to finish one after the other. If Schumacher wins 5-0 they'll finish tied on points, and I'm sure Rosberg will beat him at least once.

    Michael
He is getting better over the past few races, his qualifying pace is 2nd to Rosberg.
His race pace/craft is much better than Nico though, he pushes the limit of his Mercedes but often is caught out after pushing too hard.
As we saw in Singapore his race pace was -1 seconds on the same tyres/conditions, it got very close until Michael pummelled into Perez.
He needs to fine tune and finesse the edgy bits, then he will beat Rosberg outright in this season.
His starts are massively better also, Monza for an example, 8th to 3rd..
He has un-wavering determination and in the next races such as Suzuka.. he will fight hard I reckon.

It'll be closer than last year, but I reckon Nico will pip him on points and be best of the rest, outside the top 3 teams.

If Mercedes have enough front wings in stock then Michael may do it, but Rosberg has had some indifferent races recently and I can see him bouncing back to beat MSC come the seasons end.

Il make a decision after Japan. Its a track schumacher has historically prospered on and if he cant find the pace there then I couldnt really see past Rosberg.

All schumacher needs is Mika Hakkinen back to do battle with on this track and the rest of the field will be left behind :)

I went for Schumacher. Rosberg is massively overrated, and his lack of talent is beginning to show. It's not that Schumacher is driving well, it's just that Rosberg is crap.

They'll both finish on identical points allowing an argument to last until next March!

Yeah. Exactly as I predicted two years ago. A crap Rosberg will beat Schumacher.

For that matter, so will almost anyone else teamed up with the old guy who is - and always was - massively over-rated; apart from his first few races which impressed me, Bernie and the FIA…).

I'm sorry, i rarely disagree with you cosi, but i will here. Any driver that wins 7 titles, 3 of them in an inferior car (94,95,2000) is pretty special. There is no way anyone can call the Old Schumacher overrated.
