Keep it coming mate.....I've sworn not to touch the cans in the fridge until it's confirmed, but I'm getting thirsty. Updates like this give me the optimism I need to hold on!
So the state of play is Donald wants to be part of the takeover ? He dosnt want to let loose of a sleeping giant He wants all the Bonny marbles So as when we become a massive club again he can reap the rewards Basically he has no money to turn the club into a top premiership club So he wants others to help him So for all his {I WANT THE BEST FOR THE CLUB STATEMENT } He wants the best for himself I’m I right ??????????????
I just wonder how that would work. Not disputing it of course, would just be interested. For instance is it just a gentleman's agreement or do they have an agreed methodology for valuing the club once the others want to buy in etc.
I'm desperate for SSN to break the news as "NORTH EAST TAKEOVER CONFIRMED" and lead on how good it is that there's investment in the north east
Then you also have people saying its sartori just taking on more shares from donald and even suggestion its MG and his rich group. Barnes is adamant Donald is going, I think given the circumstances Charlie will probably want his money and to get out. I cant see sartori running it without those two. And I dont think MG’s group is feasible in the short time frame. I think @Magnus main suggestion is the most likely as it would be the simplest to do and for a more reasonable price
I agree - the only one I'm sceptical about is Rybovlev - just doesn't quite work in my mind why he'd be allowed in. Not disputing Magnus, just that bit of the info he has.
As I said the other day I'm pretty sure that with Dave Jones on board Sky are going to get the exclusive and that's why nothing is being said by them now. Presuming I'm right that doesn't of course stop the general press trying to find out and highjack Sky's position, but given that apart from Barnes and a piece in the Athletic, it's been an almost total media blackout, it suggests that this time the club and potential new owners are acting with the utmost professionalism.
It'll be a mix of that and frankly the fact we are where we are. I also think when it comes to takeovers there's an element of fatigue in reporting about rumoured ones, the media are more interested in stories that are more solid for now - such as the Wigan admin takeover.
Ah right. Presumed from your post yesterday when you said you were excited and gonna kick back with a few drinks it meant you'd had confirmation that you knew for definite who was taking over and were happy at the news.
There's a reluctance to make a prediction, even based on good info. Even if FPP believe they've the upper hand someone could come in, at the last minute, pay off the loan and grab the club. I don't believe that will happen but, after last time, I'm a little more cautious.
I've no doubt he's a good bloke and I've met a couple of times and he's definitely come across that way. Not doubting that mate
100% Which is why I guess he’s reluctant to sell, and paying us lip service for a little longer. Problem is no one would/will agree to be his sugar daddy and let him stay and let them fund it for him. Especially after the mistakes he’s made. But hopefully he’s realised that ships sailed, and no one will allow him to stay (most fans don’t want him anyway), so Now he’s happy to cut his loses and take his £37m asking price and be gone. Shame no one will give him that price, and he doesn’t hold all the cards and ultimately will be forced out, and FPP get the club for very little. Problem is I bet he still thinks he can achieve promotion this year and will try and cling on for longer. Unless he can put his mate JS in the shop window and he takes a back seat so doesn’t miss out long term £££... he really is desperate
