The PL has gone against the Government. They have also ignored considerable legal opinion as to the separation of PIF from KSA. This gets to court you can bet that Qatari influence will be exposed.

We'll know how corrupt before then - I personally don't think it'll get to court. Last thing the PL needs is exposure which would risk major sponsorship. However, if I was the PL I'd be ****ting it right now - I don't think the PIF want to invest in things like NUFC. This is about Mike Ashley showing he will not and cannot be ****ed with. He's just not a guy I'd want to go up against - he's super aggressive and has no worries whatsoever on how he comes out of this. In fact, I'll go buy from SD again if he takes it further and exposes corruption.

****ing ridiculous - Mike Ashley, man of the people.

As I say, it depends if they're innocent. It may well be that Staveley was leading everyone on a merry dance, but the official NUFC statement makes this VERY unlikely.

Occam's razor, mate - the most obvious answer is always the right one. The PL's cartel didn't want further risk to their ability to play CL football. Ultimately it's already hard enough for Man U to finish top 4.....

And Ashley just isn't to be ****ed with. Whatever you think of the guy, if you try and stand in his way he will win. He always does. Dave Whelan found that out. Debenhams found that out. MP's found that out.

He's still the same arsehole in my eyes..... It'll take a few weeks to another year before the true horror of this dawns on large numbers. We're looking at decades upto forever of falling further and further into the ruins whilst being mocked and reminded about what could've been throughout... Masters, the media patting nufc fans on the back for being good little puppies throughout....

Everyone wanted newcastle to find a new owner until they of course did and by god did their masks come off

This is the finishing blow to all that remained of north east football.....

The biggest media response is a out how poor Steve bruce feared losing his job for goodness sake.

Jesus christ never mind the thousands of jobs this was going to create.

What's the benefit of this rejection? Who benefits from this exactly?

    Who?

Arsenal and Spurs first (both finished outside CL places) benefit most as it's one team less in the way of a CL return. Then Wolves, Everton (same as the first two), then Man U, Man C, Liverpool and Chelsea protecting their interest/investment.

I don't understand how you NOW think it's over? This could go the same way as So'ton - I'm more positive of a takeover today with this news than I was yesterday, unless someone can explain why I'm wrong?

I've checked around Twitter, I'm puzzled - so many comments about it "fizzling out" or being over? Don't get it. They rejected So'ton, who went back, restructured and got approved.

Not only is the NUFC case much worse - the potential owner, PIF, has been recognised in writing as a "company" by Masters himself - but he's up against two individuals who will sue the **** out of the PL. Worse still, one of them - Ashley - isn't even suing because of the cash, he'll be suing to prove a point. Ashley simply doesn't do things he doesn't believe he'll win. If there was nothing there, the club would have said absolutely nothing.

We won't see news, there'll be pockets here and there, but we're talking about Ashley, Staveley, possibly RB's, maybe even KSA, the UK Gov and perhaps the FA all staring at the PL demanding answers. And in a court, those answers will be made public. I said ages ago, this could be the beginning of the end of the PL. It feels apocalyptic to me - with Covid-19, then this action and the fallout (remember, if Ashley/Staveley then win, the cartel will be mightily pissed off), I can't see a PL existing soon.
