Watkins to Villa done - great business for Brentford only time will tell if it was good business for Villa
Sounds like we might be favourites for Milik as his move to Juve isn’t happening. Got one year left on his Napoli deal. 3 days to get him in for the start of the season. Easy.
Madrid apparently willing to pay half of Bale’s wages to facilitate his departure. So just the £300k a week left to pay for interested parties then. Anyone think (not saying to us) he will finally leave Madrid this summer? The interview he gave the other day and the clear discontent between Bale/ Zidane/ Madrid surely means he won’t stay for another year. Guess it just depends on who could/ would stump up the dough.
I can’t see any club he would want to go to actually stumping up the cash tbh. I’d be surprised if he’s not golfing in Spain for another year. Reckon Bale must earn more than a fair few professional golfers, come to think of it
i can't see anyone taking a risk on him for 300k a year. He's barely played, when he does play he gets injured. I don't see any takers unless bale drops his 300k a week demand
He could do an A******r, and get paid off a significant part of his max possible remaining wages to exit Madrid (thus making his new wage requirements quite low) . Anyway, I am on team 'hang in there, Gareth (still a lot of Madrid money to leech while on "golfing leave" ) .
The Corriere dello Sport are claiming it'll cost £26m - in other words, £10m less than what we were being quoted back in March/April Would now be a bad time to mention that just this morning The Pathetic claimed we don't have a striker target in mind?
our squad needs a sprinkling of stardust Bale is that man Son Kane Bale fireworks not happening though and fair enough for 300k...he’s worth 200k a week from us though
As long as he don't come back here I honestly don’t give a toss. He got his dream move while being a twat so imho they deserve each other.
yeah Deeney works for me too I heard Teemu Pukki mooted somewhere he’s 31...didn’t do too badly for Norwich last season. Reckon he wouldn’t mind being back in the PL and playing in Europe tbh not a bad shout
if we could afford him...I’d want him back he would thrive here after the **** show of Madrid in the last few years. Fans that generally love him...he would give the place a buzz...reckon he would have a point to prove since people have questioned his desire...definitely got it in him to prove people wrong he can help us be about 2 places better in the League table it’s a no brainier for me if possible financially
I really can't see it happening, but it's worth remembering that Bale would count as club grown. We've got Kane, Winks and Rose at the moment, IIRC. It would be a very un-Levy move.
Way I see it is if a player can improve our XI/ squad we should sign them/ try to sign them. I think it’s 99.9% likely we can’t afford Bale but if there is that small possibility it could somehow be done the club should go for it. He’s a game changing type of player. Potentially the difference between Champions League and Europa League, or in an ideal world, a cup winner instead of a runner up/ semi finalist.
Geezer barely plays ... think it would be one hell of a gamble as he has been average at best for over a year.
With you on this, 200k/week is a hell of a gamble. While the football romantic in me would love to see it happen, I'd be very concerned about his fitness, injury record, and overall lack of sharpness.
