Interesting chat by the commentators about 27 year old Harry Kane transfering to a pot hunting club somewhere! If he hadn't kept coming back too soon after injury,he might have won a few with us...........?

I wonder how long before they say Marcus Rashford needs to move if he ever wants to win a league title?

You’ll be waiting a long time. Took Liverpool 30 years to win a league title yet you never heard the media say players needed to leave to win titles.

Some players decided to leave during that duration but there was never a media push to urge them to leave like there is with Kane and every decent player (Bale, Modric, Berbatov) Spurs have had in recent years

You probably remember that better than me, but I don’t recall any big push for them to leave.

Didn’t Gerrard want to leave but had to stay because he was threaten by some gangster?

Thats the rumour, but the media for about 2 seasons were pushing for him to join Jose at the bridge, Owen the same, and with the thing of "leaving to win things"

I think we remember moments about footballers not how many cups they did or didn't win. They might want to remember winning stuff themselves but who thinks Jimmy Greaves he won this or that? No we remember his goals, we remember his play. We rmember Gazza's goal against Scotland, or Owens against Argentina, we remember Ricky Villas goal in a cup final, we remember Barnes against Brazil, Son;s against Burnley. Le Tissier never missing a penalty, even Rose's goal against Arsenal, and Bergwyn's against City. Loads more but I couldn't tell how many cups anybody has won. I would have to look up clubs records. Football is about magic unscripted moments not the Reindeer Cup former Coke Cup or Milk Cup that is just an advertising vehicle. I don't even remember who won the FA Cup last year. I would have remembered if Spurs had won the CL but that turned into an Albatross that lost us the best manager we've had for years, so it's a two edged sword. I even remember Beckham's goal against Greece, well that's fairly easy because for all the hype he didn't do a lot for England did he.
Magic Moments that's what it's about. Thankyou Son let's have another one.

Oh and all those magic headers from Gilzean and those incredible tackles from Ledley, thanks guys.

I’d like the chance to remember a player or two for helping us win trophies

I think I could manage that

    Thank you Jonathan Woodgate

You're in danger of missing out Spurlock, there are more magic moments in football that have nothing to do with cups. If all you are interested in is bragging rights then you have missed it.

It was yourself who made the point that footballers are remembered for their little moments and not for the trophies they helped win...I just happened to disagree...personally it’s about both

I will never forget what that ball did to Woodgate’s face as it diverted into the back of the net for the winner

Maybe this is where you are going wrong Spurf...you think people want to see their clubs win trophies for bragging rights...don’t you think it could be because they want to see their club win trophies? Remembering a trophy win usually opens up a Pandora’s box of glorious memories that led to that trophy...e.g that glorious semi final battering on our way to the final in 2008

Bragging rights are just part n parcel of the game...we brag after picking up 3 points against that lot down the road

    just the game

That's a bit harsh Spurf - I am not his biggest fan but in the main he was good for England he wore the national shirt with pride - in that Greece match he carried us and he was good at WC in Japan and the Euros in Portugal, and unlike his Welsh 'colleague' he played internationals whenever he could.

  16. Do you reckon those boys regret staying?

Mind you, the problem is that the local Mousers tend to take exception with any ‘Pool player wanting to leave their beloved club. Don’t they issue death and arson threats?

  20. You know what? I’m genuinely looking forward to it!

At least the Gooners can’t rip the piss about us having to play Bosnian plumbers and gas fitters, because they’ve got to play them, too.
