So if we also win the first 5 games could Donald ask for more? Don't think it would work like this at this stage if its gone to the EFL

until it's signed, either side can renege on their agreement. whether they will or not is unlikely - it's not the "done" thing is it.

the optimist in me though would like to think it's already signed and just pending approval.

Donald doesn't know the value of anything, was handed the family business, is a gambler and as proven by the Grigg fiasco knows nothing about football and acts on the whim. I wouldn't trust his word.

On SD pulling out of the sale if we have a good start - I'd be surprised if the sale price is a fixed amount. My guess is that there will be a base price, then if we get promoted this season he'll get more money. Also, if he invests in players e.g. the Kosovan defender and hopefully the Argentinian striker, he gets at least some of that money added on. So there's no incentive for him to delay things or to not spend money.

  6. No,I don't believe that's how it works. It's my view that the price will have been agreed early on,only to be varied if something is brought to light during the examination of the club's finances and its' affairs generally. There will have been penalty clauses inserted to ensure that either party does not lose out if the other pulls out, particularly if exclusivity has been granted, which,we believe it has.
I've always been puzzled by what happened a year ago that resulted in the "loan" from FPP,but I'm convinced it involved our league status. I'm pretty sure that Donald wants rid and will not want to end up being dependent again on promotion to do so......he'd have to run it until next June at the earliest.....and,as he will know, promotion is a huge gamble. It's more likely that he has wanted part of the deal to include some sort of add on to the purchase price if promotion is achieved, and it may well be that has been the real sticking point.
In my opinion,if it's gone to the EFL it's done. Let's hope so,'cos this is driving us all crackers!

I've got a little spare time on my hands presently. Anyhoo, was farting around on xbox last night, there's a game UFC 3, I've actually called my cage fighter Stewart Donald, his nickname is "the problem".
I've designed the fighter to look as much like Donald as possible (still a bit of fine tuning to do) I was actually bad laughing throughout this process. Will be unleashing him tonight on multiplayer, his style is that of a southpaw brawler.
Will upload some pics and clips in the near future lol......TBF, I have probably lost the plot. Apologies again for the drift.

    ETA
I will also be doing a Methven one as well.

Hello everyone. International fan here! If there is a new lockdown and fans cannot start attending games in october, could that be the final :emoticon-0146-punch to SD?

There's a big distinction, often missed, between a statement, an update, an announcement, latest news, progress report, etc etc etc

I'm thinking about if HMG actually delay or halt the opening of football grounds.

Mind, something that I also hadn't thought of would be Donald getting an attack of greed following our 8-1 win!

He couldn't sustain the club before the virus, he has no chance now.

Yes, but has this introduced a pause to see what HMG are going to do next and look at how that will effect the business?

I’d think with the threat of fans not getting in as planned from october if Donald has a deal its in his best interest to get it done ASAP, the new owners can afford these things where as Donald could risk losing everything if he doesnt get it done now.

Precisely, Donald isn't a wealthy man in football terms and was banking on promotion, banked on it a second time and won't want to risk a third time ...

... if he does he could end up looking at a 4th promotion attempt without the support of the fans.

to be clear, my "prediction" that something might be happening Friday was based on Barnes saying he might have an update then, and the text received by @Gillythedilf that there was originally planned an announcement on that date but now there isn't.

I was speculating that those two independent sources convergingt might mean some sort of meeting or event is happening on Friday, but that it isn't expected to lead to anything being announced publicly.

Hopefully means we might get some sort of leak over weekend or even before
