A dead period of time for Spurs was between the wars when our club was regarded as "mean!" Very rarely bought anyone and content on home grown. I believe Arsenal had a much more successful time picking up a few good players in that period.....including one of our old players who became their successful manager.
As with us,after the billionaire clubs have had their pick it doesn't leave much time to try signing what's left.
£20m, apparently. Allan, Rodriguez and Doucoure in a couple of days for about £62m. Their squad's starting to look rather bloated, though. Plenty of time to sort it in this window, but it's a balancing act. Interesting to see how many of these players play a part against us.
To me they’re an example of buying for the sake of it. The amount of money they’ve wasted in recent years must be huge. They seem to be overloaded with players who all basically do the same job.
Yeah, I often struggle to understand their overall vision for the squad. They act like Damien Comolli used to for us, in my opinion. Try to find the best players that they can sign without paying any attention to the positions that they need to fill.

Right, so the way to wash dodgy money is to spend it on something you are going to lose money on? Sounds like a great plan
That's not what sportswashing is! That's also exactly how money laundering works. You lose some cash to make it legitimate.
If you have that much cash and can spend it on the international markets it's probably already accepted as legitimate
