Barnes also says he will keep trying to get further clarification this week which he will share if he can
Nick Barnes got more info on Friday and checked it Saturday. He wouldn't have announced what he did if he didn't think it was true. He doesn't know who is buying the club but he knows it's not Campbell or Storey. He doesn't think it's a reallocation of shares, SD will not be at the club. Info he has been given goes beyond what he has revealed, so that he can check it's actually happening and not fake. They are hopeful it will be completed this month but it might roll into October or even November.
I think even if he did go through it last time as the deal didnt happen he will probably have to go and make sure. Plus if its just him and not all 3 the EFL would probably still need to check him out as an individual.
I also think the way Barnes talks about the deal supports what @Magnus said. The deal is done and agreed and now going to the efl
Yes Barnes has said it can’t be storey as storey is saying his offer should be accepted, and clearly an offer has already been accepted if it’s going to the EFL. We already knew this but it’s nice to hear it said out loud that this petty much means Donald has agreed to sell in principle.
Nick Barnes could not be more clear there mind. He completely trusts the source who has given him the information. He has double checked it with other people he trusts and they have backed it up. He again says its a full takeover and there is no chance SD wants to stop
Well that was quite interesting, period of exclusivity is over (gray could be back in although it was not mentioned) Barnes knows his reputation is on the line and would not have repeated what he was told if he wasn’t 100% confident it was true, does not know who the buyers are, thinks fpp and sartori in his opinion, will have more info this week
The EFL process is bound to take longer due to Covid, and the happenings at Wigan with their current owner, they won't want to get burnt again. Their reputation has took a massive hit with that. On top of that, they are probably quite busy with Wigan Admin situation, and prospective buyers. Ours whilst probably more straightforward, I would guess is not their priority. Shame for us, but is what I imagine the situation is.
Sorry to be a pedant but in a world where people like to hold others to timescales I thought it best to clarify he didn’t promise
