Fraser soon after - but that bloke on the pitch didn't look like Wilson (and certainly wasn't Fraser) - has Lewis flown over to sign today?
If he stays fit he's a real good signing. I've mentioned before I got to see the Cherries play quite a bit. He's a handful. He's quite powerful and difficult to push off the ball. Finishing is good too. The rest of the team couldn't get him the ball last season they were all over the place. The rest of the team will like playing with his as at last we have a striker that makes runs in behind. Also isn't at all sulky. King as an example often went missing if he couldn't be arsed. Wilson just keeps making himself available all game.
5 seasons in the Premier League, in which he averagea 8 goals a season, hardly the stuff dreams are made of. Although if playing him and Joelinton up front together manages to turn Joey boy into a decent player, then he is a ****ing steal.
We will still be utterly hopeless.. People have been fooled into thinking the problem is that we needed a striker, but the reality to anyone with half a brain is that the side assembled and ability to play football is the biggest problem... We don't create and if we do the striker gets 1 maybe 2 glimpses in a game... Even the most lethal strikers would struggle in our side... There's issues at cb, both fullback positions cm... The system is dysfunctional without addressing that it's all a complete waste of time and money.. Sorry to burst everyone's. Balloon but its true
Ummm, yes and no. Joelinton got plenty of the ball last season, but spent the whole of the first half of the season ballsing everything up cos he's a cack handed imbecile when he leads the line. With Gayle alongside side him, he looked like he could be a decent foil to a good striker, so Wilson backed up by Joey gives us a new attack option. The problem last year was an absolute heap of turd in midfield, with both Longstaff off the boil, Ritchie not bothered, Shelvey drifting in and out and Hayden getting crocked. Hendrik and Fraser at least give us some new faces in there.
I agree we've got issues in all areas of the pitch and it leads to.. Not being able to play anything cohesive.. As long a that's still the case nobody will do well up front
A big problem is that you need a CF who is giving the midfield options and making the pitch bigger by giving the defence something to think about. This is one of the main reasons I don't think we are creative enough. Joe just came short all the time.
Bruce now has to play him correctly. Like buying a new drill to drill through brick but using wooden drill bits.
This is what I've been saying since the stories on these players broke..its not going to solve anything unless Bruce's new system is functional.
