Silent Stan says Arsene is so good.....

Discussion in 'Arsenal' started by Robin van Bergkamp, Sep 30, 2011.

  1. I'm not in disagreement Robin and would rather he go under his own steam with his dignity, reputation and legacy intact. I have no wish to see him leave a sad man but someone who can proudly say I've done my best by the club. He's been our most successful manager so I have no wish to do a Caesar or should that be Brutus?

Sorry to hear about your internet connection. ;)

  2. Well there's something like £25m for Nasri, £7m for Clichy, £3m for Eboue and then JET and Traore would have brought in around £3m, making roughly£38m. We spent £53m so against £35m for Cesc, we have £20m +/- left in the kitty.

That's what Mr 20K is talking about. Amazing though how quickly expenses mount up!!!

It is possible as had been revealed during a discussion with ( I think it was ) either Alex Flynn or Stewart Robson, that Arsenal had placed 2 club-record bids which were not successful ( for reasons which we can all speculate ). There is no doubt that a reserve fund exists which stands around £115+ million. Whether any or how much of this is spent is anyone's guess. Certainly we need a MF and someone at the back in January. Possibly a star who can play in MF too like Hazard. If we don't spend the money then it goes to boost the balance sheet which presumably is good for the shareholders. Whatever is the case I hope we hold on to RvP et al.

Actually we only received 15m for fab initially, we get another 15 m next month, then the rest in add ons over the next few years, the club won't spend the money until they get it so we pretty much spent all the money we made. Possibly the other 15m we get next month will be earmarked for a January purchase.

  4. Are we getting the interest as well from Barca? That was such a bargain deal ......

Haha, yes and it took months of negotiating to get that, that's what annoys me when people say we should of sold him earlier, initially barca only offered 25m with only 8 m up front, no wonder it took so long to sell him. Barca knew fab wanted to go, and would only go to them. Chelsea offered 40m for modric allegedly, if they thot they could have got fab for that price they would have flushed modric down the pan.
