Does anybody see the pattern that seems to be emerging in terms of our performances vs the size of the pitch?

Think about our weakest performances this season. Scunthorpe (80 mins), QPR (the whole game), Sunderland (First Half). They have all been on narrow pitches where the team presses us high up the pitch, therefore we cannot get out passing game together and our wingers become ineffective.

Now think about our strongest performances. Aston Villa, Blackburn and Fulham. They have been at home on our wide pitch and at Villa's turf, where it is pretty wide as well. This is where our wingers flourish and our dynamo partnership in the middle cover so much ground they dominate games. We can play on the ground more and our passing game comes together.

This leads me to my prediction of at least a draw tomorrow, where we will have a good deal of possession. However, it all depends on whether our strikers can get good service and if they can take their chances.

Just seen the typo error in the title, can you edit a title after the thread has been made?

I'm sure a QPR supporter pointed out the other week that their pitch is the same width as ours, just their stands are closer to the pitch making it look smaller? But I do see your point!

Think someone needs to sneak into opponent grounds and quickly repaint the sidelines prior to matchday. Pop the corner flags in the stands or something... :bandit:

I think it's because they were forced to with playing in the Uefa Cup.
