You can try abruptly changing direction and going back the way you came, along with a little yank on the lead (not enough to hurt obviously), then doing it again to go the way you were initially.

Kind of snaps the dog out of its single minded rush forward and makes it aware that it's on a lead and goes where you want to not the dog.

Aye we’ll try that thanks, he’s sound apart from the pulling, he’s getting his knackers off next week so that might calm him down a bit also

My pal has a husky does the same so they got a harness for him. Still pulls like **** mind but at least now they don't worry about choking him and they said it is easier to control him.

We’ve tried harnesses, chokers, normal collar and lead, He’s got a one track mind to get to the next thing he sees as quick as he can he’s not bothered that it chokes him he just gasps, he’s off his head

Get some mini roller skates for him. His legs might still be going like the clappers but he won't be getting as much forward motion, saving on the old choking there.

I was gonna suggest similar, I'll stop walking altogether when either pulls and wait for them to stop, then when they do give them praise before setting off again. The little 'un will sometimes sit down now if she feels the lead get tight from pulling as she knows we are about to stop.

My 4th generation of shepherds meet Klaus and Rudi. 2 brothers . Rudi is the black one. 2 years old and fabulous loving dogs. Rudi is very laid back takes everything in his stride. Klaus typical shepherd into everything and like a bull in a china shop. Both great temperaments and love socialising with others. Keep me busy. 3EA8A609-EDB2-49F3-83B5-91BE02545ECB.jpeg DBFD3330-E5E9-4011-A313-9699C7D40BA6.jpeg

It’s sad that shepherds have a reputation that they don’t deserve. I’ll admit that as young lad I was **** scared of them. That was because a lad up the road from me had one but the family never socialised her. She just stood at the side gate and barked and growled at anything that came near to her.
