Following away games on radio in 70s was ****.

Peter Ward had no enthusiasm for football let alone City.

A scoreflash from the Manor Ground or wherever every 15 mins unless a goal had been scored.

The reporter was always a rabid fan of the local team whose comments were extremely biased and whose knowledge of City and their players was minimal.

The background noise was always very loud and vocal and it was always 'Hull hanging on for their lives here' or 'Somehow it's still 0-0 but Hull living very dangerously here'

Which made it all the more sweet when 5 mins from the end a scoreflash update would say 'Completely against the run of play, Hull have broken away and taken the lead and the home crowd are stunned' from a very deflated-sounding commentator.

Always enjoyed Keith Macklin's Wednesday bias on YTV. "A disappointing weekend for a lot of our clubs. Hull City dropped a point at top of the table Leicester, Sheffield United will have been disappointed to drop a point away at third placed Sunderland but on the bright side Wednesday picked up a point against bottom of the table Carlisle."

This club is fraudulently withdrawing money from my credit card they have on file.

Tigerstv, for which I have a monthly subscription for the audio broadcast, is actually advertising that the Sunderland game is available but the site will not grant me access.

I obviously haven't used the site during the off season, yet the monthly debits from my credit card have been taken every month like clockwork. I have received no communication from the club, or the broadcast provider notifying me of the castration of the deal they had with BBC Radio Humberside, the source of the commentary broadcast (Burnsey et al).

Anyone else having payments collected from their credit cards for the TigersTV feature ?

Anyone have a phone number for customer service at the KCom - there in no number published on their web -site ?

No organ transplants, no hip replacements, cancer diagnosis was almost always terminal, mental health care non-existent apart from locking up the worst cases. Contraception was french letters got under the counter, if you got your girlfriend pregnant you got married, no living together. Food was expensive, meat and veg every meal, seasonal fruit and veg only, only takeaway was the chippy. No curry, Chinese, pizza, pasta. No one had a freezer, shops shut at 5pm. One bath a week, whether you needed it or not, deodorant was unmanly, everyone had BO and stank of old ash trays as everyone smoked. Two channels on the telly. Pop music on the light station only on certain programmes, no Radio 1 until 1967.

Easier than that, just approach your CC company and ask them to refund the payments...

“The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.”

Just like today some stuff was good and some was bad, if only someone could piece all the good bits together.

No internet, have to go round to your mates and knock on the door to see if they wanted to play out.

Life was different where you lived in the 1960s. No Chinese, there was a massive, and excellent Chinese in Brid in the 1960s. Chicken was expensive due t5o thh3m being farm reared not in cruel warehouses like now. Beef was cheaper relatively than now. Vegg with every meal...that is why people were healthier. Fish and chips were a lot healthier than pizzas. Pasta was available. Baths were more frequent round my way which is why, unlike round your way, no one stank.
The Radio 1 thing cracked me up. We got the insipid, safe, Radio 1when and lost the infinitely superior pirate stations like Caroline and Radio 270.
The lack of tv channels didn't bother us we were too busy out enjoying ourselves.

I went to that. We won 1-0. Waggy scored a suspiciously offside goal. We needed the win to pull away from the lower reaches of the table. I was looking forward to hearing the famous Roker Roar but it was very muted that day.

We went on an East Yorkshire coach. The driver was given directions by the police for a route out that would ensure he kept the windows intact.

Went to that one. Entertaining day. For many reasons. <laugh> The one I was referring to in my post was the season before when Chillo got the winner. I remember they were doing a survey as you went in asking where you were from. It showed that more than half the crowd that day didn't live in Sunderland.
