Dave Messenger the WFC supporters liaison person.. Has sent the following round to supporters groups. You may be interested;;; Dave writes: As ever, apologies for the impersonal nature of this email which has been sent to several supporters group leads, fanzine editors, history buffs, bloggers and social media gurus.. I hope you’re all starting to look forward to the new season. I wanted to drop you a line to let you know about a few things we’re looking for supporter involvement in. As ever, no offence will be taken if these things are not of interest but if you or your members would be up for taking part then please let me know. The first is our ‘Hive Live’ streaming service, which I hope you’re already familiar with (if not, I’m fired for not helping to make the emails/web stories interesting enough….). Details can be found on the link below; https://www.watfordfc.com/news/introducing-hive-live-watford-fcs-new-matchday-streaming-service We are looking for guests to represent our supporters on the show each week as the season progresses, starting from the Middlesbrough game, so if you or anyone you know are interested in taking part then please let me know. The second is a programme article we’ll be running this season, called ‘Guest List’. We’re looking for a different supporter for each issue to give us their dream dinner guests, either dead or alive, with the only rule being they have to be associated with Watford FC. A few more pointers are below; Please avoid the really obvious candidates – no-one wants to read 23x GT, SEJ and Troy Deeney across the course of the season As always obscure personalities are welcome, as well as favourite players etc, so for example somebody might choose Tony Coton, Ann Swanson & Gladys Protheroe. Please keep in mind that we’ll need to illustrate the articles so a quick google check to find an image before including a particular person would be appreciated (we’ll do this too, so no need to send the images you find) Write approx. 100-150 words on each, explaining why they’re a dream dinner guest and what they’d bring to the table…literally Please also provide a photo of yourself Please drop me a line, copying [email protected] into your message, if you’d like to take part. Finally, an appeal from me. While I would hope this doesn’t apply to those of you reading this, we’re not ignorant to the fact that many supporters feel we are not connecting with or communicating enough at the moment. We also understand that, in this era of instant information on social media, everyone wants to hear news as soon as they possibly can. Communication is not always that straightforward and in many cases, it's simply not possible to share as much information as and when we and our supporters might like. That's especially relevant during the current situation, both on the pitch and in relation to our planning for the return of supporters to the stadium, season ticket polices and Hive Live, all of which have been the subject of email communications directly to supporters and social media posts in recent weeks. We can’t answer every question people post on-line and there’s only so many email communications we can send out or web stories we can post. So, my appeal is that if you see things on social media platforms or are asked questions by supporters, please encourage them to get in touch directly with us. We will always do our best to reply as quickly as we can when supporters take the time to contact us directly. Please do share the [email protected] address so we can direct queries to the right people. That’s all from me, for now. As ever, please do drop me a line if I can help with anything. All the best, Dave
Just a quick word on Dave Messenger, I have contacted him a few times recently, and he has been very quick to reply and try to help. Really impressed with him.
I'll second that. He's absolutely first class. I had also met him a few times when he was a "civvie" as it were and a very pleasant young man he was then.
Got an email this morning inviting me to create a Hive Live account and purchased a pass for the game. Seemed straightforward. Watching on my PC which apparently may not give best quality if internet slow. Why my phone/pad should be any better when it is also fed by my wifi is a puzzle. See some of you at the game, so to speak?
Yes I have done the same....and had the same thoughts... I guess we will see. The other alternative which I may try if this does not work well is to log in via my phone app and then feed to the TV... I have done this once before, but cant remember how! But i will try on the PC today... as alos out of Mmes way....
Silly question probably, and I feel stupid for asking - I just created a Hive Live account and purchased a match pass for today, but there wasn't a great deal of information come with the purchase. I was expecting to receive an access code of some sort to type in just before the game started but got nothing. Am I right in thinking that it's safe to log out now and log back in before kick-off, when it will take me straight to the match?
Well it all seemed to go well on Saturday. Email received confirming purchase. Feed ok, match momentarily stuttered but was fine, in fact the pre/post match stuff feed was worse. If I get anywhere with the TV will let you know.
Yes i was really happy with the quality of feed.... a lot depended it seemed as to waht device you were on.... another member of this group had real issues..
My issues were down more to me being a bit of a technophobe and setting up in the worst room for the WiFi. Got there in the end.
me too, which appears to be via the hive app and is a reusable code. So all live TV matches will be free for STH who paid their £20 Is it free for overseas as well?
