I’ve started clearing stuff out and found a box full of Sunderland memorabilia.

Found an autograph book from when the team trained at Usworth. :emoticon-0102-bigsm Some blasts from the past names including Mel Holden
Can’t believe how clear some of the names still are
I’ve got stacks of programmes and fanzines as I sort them I’ll post pictures and they will be free to a good home if anyone wants them :emoticon-0148-yes: E41389A6-377D-4A9C-AE87-914C18FF3F86.jpeg

There will be good memories there Janey, don't be too quick to give them away.

When we moved house some 26 years ago only one box went missing, this was the box that held my memorabilia, programmes home and away, my semi final ticket from Hillsborough, international tickets England v Scotland etc. Memories of travel with my dad and uncle, and of course my mates. Once they are gone they are gone and with them the memories of some great times and yes not so great.

I hope that you have some happy memories as you sort through things,

They have lots of happy memories, tickets from away games, the programme from the final against Norwich and the play off against Swindon (bittersweet memories) I’m reluctant to give things away but then I also think how long do I keep them?
I’ve got loads of away programmes and a pile of home programmes, I couldn’t even start to put them in any order

Brought back memories there. I had all those autographs as well. We must be a similar vintage. Lot of those players were local lads and products of the youth system. Kids today won't see many of those coming through. Thanks to the Eastleigh mafia

Agree with all of this, however I'd also say that its the easiest its been since the 80s to get autographs of players now. My lad is 9 and has travelled to numerous away games and I can't remember a time when it was as easy to chat to the players.

It is a difficult decision, what to keep and what to let go. I was just trying to suggest that you keep a few pieces that mean something personal to you.
Would any of it be useful for the museum at the old railway station, perhaps it could be enjoyed by many. In the future.

What, in haway? You're taking pedantry to an unwelcome higher level there, people can spell it how they like it's an informal version of a colloquial phrase.

hmm, that has set me thinking, pretty sure i got milton to sign his picture in the programme...might even have been after his one memorable sub appearance against the equally small wimbledon...yeh right, milton looked like a 6 year old joining in, at least it gave us a smile.
