We have dipped after Christmas the last couple of seasons under Bielsa. It usually lasts around 10 games or so. If it happens this season it should be enough to ensure we get involved in the relegation battle. You never know with us. We could easily surpass Sheff Utds achievements or finish bottom. We will be entertaining though. Bielsa will try and win every game. I expect to get a few hidings but we might surprise a few teams too. We'll probably be top 6 in December and bottom 6 in May. That sounds like a Leedsy thing to do. It's the hope that kills you.
I’m my expectation are that West Ham will go down. Not fussed who else joins them. regarding Everton, we will bomb out of the LC at the first round and 5th round of fa cup. League, between 6-10th
I’m going to watch Leeds with interest tbh. The high energy Bielsa style has always seen his sides dip at some point mid season, it’ll be interesting to see how it pans out in the PL, where you’ll not have the same level of possession you enjoyed in the Championship and so the chasing and therefore burn out, could be exacerbated. My guess is that you’ll stay up relatively comfortably, but I can’t see you being better than midtable at best tbh.
Wait til they come to the mighty fortress St James' Park. Hope they're ready for the great black and white wall before a Jonjo free kick in the 90th minute seals a win.
You’re going down imo bro. The atmosphere at the club is toxic post the failure of the takeover and Ashley obvs isn’t going to invest to allow you to spend. The combination will prove to be fatal.
I agree 100%. Atmosphere more than the squad to be honest, it's just so bad. It sucks, because prior to this takeover nonsense there was a sense of actual optimism. Social media was happy with Bruce's efforts, the squad was happy and we finished respectably for a team with no striker. Not to mention, we had an upward trend of actually spending money. Now? Gone to ****. No matter who we're linked too they're not good enough, if we want to spend money it's not enough, everything is bad and terrible. It's a shame, but it's football - they might surprise us and get a few good results early. If that happens we could have a decent season. A first game loss to West Ham will be devastating.
Your keeper being out for the opening month or so isn’t going to help like. In fairness I think you’ve actually got the right man for the job given your current predicament, as Bruce simply doesn’t care what it looks like, he’ll defend on the goal line for 89 minutes and nick one from a set piece if he has to.
Tbf if fans aren’t allowed in no ground will be a fortress. If on the off chance fans are allowed back in I’m sure Row Z will be bracing themselves
don’t want to see Newcastle go down. Who else would be always picked to play away on a Monday night game ? watching them struggle year on year is much more fun. They have been site since Pardew tried to take the piss.
Hope to see GSB out, expecting even more piss-taking. Oh, and I hope Talksport **** Jim White off for being a ****, but expect to hear him keep slagging off the money paying fans and sticking up for the ****s we have as owners.
I hope for a good cup run especially in the FA Cup and a Wembley day out and to get into the top ten by playing the exciting football we have shown post lockdown and performing well against the big 6. Danny to win the Golden Boot with him and JWP becoming fixtures in the England team. I also hope for a decent, rich owner (preferably a fan) to take over the club and try to clear the whole stack of deadwood currently hanging around the club's neck like a millstone. I expect that we will at least match our League performance of last season and a cup run is possible because we can match most teams on our day..Crazy eh Libs?..
Our season pretty much solely rests on whether Ings stays fit. 9th - 12th if he does. 14th-17th if he doesn't.
I'm expecting a much bigger goals contribution from Che Adams this season, he has the monkey off his back and is looking more like the player we bought from Brum. We don't play like a one man team (since lockdown) and we will create chances even if Danny does not play IMO. You can't really predict for an injury either just hope that it doesn't happen.
Only just seen this thread. Gonna refrain from getting carried away with the hope of a new season, only to see it all fall apart in November, But I am quietly confident that Arteta is building something at Arsenal. As soon as he came in we could see what he was trying to do. The players are working harder, are better organised and seem to be much more tactically switched on. They got their reward for what was a terrible season, by turning it around at the end and winning a trophy. We've added Willian and Gabriel. If we can go all out and Get Thomas Partey in. Then I think we've got a really strong team going into this season. We'll see what happens, but the goal this season is top 4 and getting Arsenal back in the Champions League
Hope for the season, play some entertaining football and enjoy our matches. I would like us to stay in the Premier League but as long as we play as well as we can and stick to out principles I will be happy. The best football I have seen played by Leeds in a long time.
