Oh yeah don’t get me wrong, he’s pretty ****. For free though... not too bad Cambiasso @FosseFilberto The definition of a shrewd free transfer
Milner is a great pro tbf like. He was always a decent player but he’s looked after himself very well, and made sure he drinks plenty of fluids
He was brilliant and helped keep us up without question... the irony is, that if he had stayed (and most of us feared the worse when he left after the 'great escape' season), Ranieri may not have ended up pairing Drinkwater and Kante in the engine room that took us to the title ... strange how things work out ... In hindsight, the signing of Cambiasso was first and foremost a statement of intent from our owners ... we are here and mean to stay and will look to bring in the calibre of player that Leicester fans could previously only dream about ...
Saw Gary McAllistairs debut for us under Jock Wallace ... Jock signed him and Ali Mauclen from Motherwell ... initially Mauchlen made the greater impact, tigerish tackling ball winning dynamo ... Gary Mac was a little too lightweight for the old second division but, in fairness, was still a kid ... took some tome to establish himself but technically was the best player we had seen for many a year ... still a legend for most Leicester fans ...
Gareth Barry was probably ours. Came on loan from City and many said he was already finished then gave us 4 years. Boss player and a top pro.
Thinking about it ... wasn't Jock Wallace but Gordon Milne (recently pictured on the kit thread) that signed Gary Mac ... he also paired a youth product with a signing from non league Alvechurch for Gary Mac to supply the passes to... Gary Lineker and Alan Smith ... underrated was Gordon ... built arguably the best side we had pre the Martin O'Neil years
