There was quite a lot made of getting our fishing back because, as you will know, we get less than 10% of our fish, and some EU trawlers eg Spanish, don't give a toss about sustainability in the North Sea. We need control.

We get less than 10% of our fish? How do we know which ones are ours?

You're right, we must get control of the fish, the slippery bastards.

The point is that the EU are making demands that they know we won't agree to and insisting that no other issues can be discussed unless we give in.
No deal will be their doing.

Over half the uk fishing quota is owned by foreign vessels anyway. Let's not pretend we are bothered about a wee fisherman in hull or somewhere in scotland. This is all about shareholders of big companies which are mainly foreign owned.

eer just about all the fishing communities. Bloody hell Stroller you should stick to Boris bashing because you obviously know nothing about the fishing communities.
We left the EU, they are our waters, we decide What goes on in them, not the EU!
Did he really just post that? <doh>

With respect Bob, you're missing the point.
NO negotiations can continue because of the unrealistic demands from the EU.

Agree. We all knew it would be coming down to a blame game. The EU still thinks they will control us after leaving the block? They seriously need to get real.
Stroller's comments on fishing were wrong. It doesn't matter how small the income is. It's about being in control of our own waters.

Where do you get this bit about 'no discussions about other issues until fishing is resolved' from?

TBH I still believe there will be a deal and most of stuff going on is all show. Each side Is trying to get the best for its own. It will probably go down to the wire. We just need to stick by our guns.

Fair play but let's not get up in arms about fishing when half of our quota is owned by foreign companies anyway.

We’re certainly more likely to get a deal on ovens than he ever was to having an oven-ready deal.

My uneducated guess is we’ll achieve a last minute utterly pointless deal no better than what rEmAiNeR May would have got and nowhere near what we had and it’ll be celebrated like VE day in Boston and Grimsby.

In the beginning it should have been an easy deal but things keep changing. The problem all along was the 580 page withdrawal agreement and only having a 10 page future deal document. This was the down to the EU but our fault for signing stuff which would come back to haunt us. I guess if I’m honest we may have signed stuff and we were never going to agree with at a later date. Yes that’s the failings of the government.
However the EU stated that they would be fair and they are being anything but.
