Off Topic Driving M1 and M25

Maybe I've just got lucky the last week or so driving the M1 and M25 (in particular).... but it's actual been, dare I say it, pleasant. Even that 32 mile road work section on the M1 was flowing freely today and the M25 looked like a Sunday morning... the Covid effect...?

Some kids are still off school. It does generally make a significant difference on the motorways. Plus there’s probably more people still working from home. My Mrs is normally in London twice a week. She’s been told there’ll be no returning to the office this year at least.

I’ve been working from home for about 6 months now, and I honestly think that I won’t ever return to full time working from the office or client sites. I really do not miss the commute one bit - from the times I have driven though during this time it has been much more pleasant everywhere except for Hull!

Covid, schools still off, working from home, lots of people away on holiday (believe it or not!).

I did home to Hull in 1 hour 35m on Saturday, breaking my previous record by a full 5 mins.

She’ll never hear this from me But she’s a great driver. She probably covers more miles in a year than most men cover in 10 years. she has an advanced driving qualification and she has to date never had an accident in just over 25 years of driving.

Don’t tell anyone.... but I’m **** at parking! I’d rather drive on then attempt a reversing park.

But then I drive about 2k miles a year, either to York train station or pock school. Haven’t done much on that recently either lol

Is she better than you...

Of course not! We’re both high mileage drivers. I used to do in excess of 50,000 miles a year - to the point PCP car contracts I could only get 2 year contracts due to the 120,000 mile mileage limitations. Cut back considerably over the last 10 years. Thankfully too many idiots on the roads.
