hello boys and girls, its been a while since i last wrote something and i figured i drop in and say a couple of things that have been on my chest for a bit.

I must start with the fact the I am extremely gutted following the result against Norwich. Although I wasn't convinced whatsoever with the performance against Stoke, the score nevertheless was sufficient. I did think going into that game that we would be more fluid and confident in our play but alas one win isn't the answer to everything I see.

There have been a couple of points I wanted to make that I feel would better the team, not that our opinion makes a difference ultimately but for our own peace of mind's sake here goes.

    1. LEE CATTERMOLE- I know he's been getting a lot of stick on this board this season and I have to admit his performances have left a lot to be desired. HOWEVER, i feel that people forget how important he, or a player like him is to a team such as ourselves. What I am about to say applies more so for away games, but we need a player like him to free up the midfield while also protecting the backline. As odd as it may be, I think without him the team is less dynamic. A player like lee cattemole will never score 10 goals a season, but what he will do is break up play for the opposition and give the other midfielders freedom to wonder forward. Even the best teams in the world all have this type of player and it is vital for us to continuously play someone of his mold. You look at Barcelona, Man U, Real Madrid, AC Milan, etcetc they all have these players in Busquets, Fletcher, Khedira, Gattuso. He leaves the team less exposed and if anything can start the counter with the pass out from defense. I really hope to see him back in the team, and also wouldn't be surprised if he is back in the team for Westbrom. if Meyler is back fit that would be healthy competition for him.

    2. Craig Gordon. please come back, simple as that.

    3. Finally I would like us to play and 4-4-2 that forms into a 4-3-3 with a very compact midfield ala chelsea in the mourinho era.

For me this is what I would like to see this weekend, and I have taken into account what westbrom are all about.

    Mignolet
    Oshea Brown Turner Richardson
    Larsson Cattermole Sess Vaughan
    Bendtner Connor (Ji)

With this I would let Sess roam free and cattermole anchors while vaughan, larsson stay compact. I think this would help play become more fluid without exposing ourselves at the back. I think people forget that our first half of the season last year was so good because of the defense, lets make that our number 1 priority.

Lastly, some of you may know I work in and around the footballing world and a close mate of mine told me the 'inside info' about the Papiss Cisse matter. He told me Sunderland's interest was legitimate, however they were firm in their offer because of the African Nations Cup and his desire to leave. They were not going to be held at ransom because they know eventually they would have to give in. I have mixed emotions when I heard this, but ultimately I decided it was a good choice by Sunderland. We should never be held at ransom by anyone and good on sunderland to hold firm in their offer.

let us know your thoughts, will write more often...i promise.

Question is, will Gordon remain a Sunderland player, I hope so, but Bruce is being very negative on that one.
