Agreed - expect those to be the top 9 and pretty optimistic that there will be more than one of them below us
Which of those clubs gas been the most successful in the last 5 years? ... going back any further is hardly relevant?
Yep.. Fosse keeps banging on about a couple of injuries, but all clubs get them and the ****ter the club the more significant they're because the further you go down the bigger the gap between first and second choice players is at clubs.. Having a strong squad is part of what makes clubs better these days.. You can't just judge your first 11 and then start crying about injuries
A couple? ... how do you think United would have fared without Maguire, Lindelof, Wan-Biissaka and Bruno Fernandez at the same time? .. because that's what we had during the run-in games ... that isn't "the usual" injuries ... it's severe....
So expect Leeds and Villa to be challenging then because Leeds were dominant in the 70s and Villa won the league and European Cup in the 80s? ... thank **** Forest can't get to us yet As to 'probability' ... given the last 5 years ... it is highly probable that we will still have been more successful than all but the Big 4, this time next year .. and the year after that too
It'll be interesting to se how he comes back after such a bad injury. It takes time to reach the same heights after any injury. How's he looking in pre season? He certainly looked good for the perioud he was available last season...
I guess we will have to wait and see, but forgive me for suggesting this feels highly reminiscent of when I told you in December that you'd finish 5th.
BTW lads if anyone want you can add your team to the not606 league https://www.not606.com/threads/fantasy-football.386007/
Maaddison is fine ... minor hip injury If back then you could have assured me that we would lose Vardy, Ndidi, Maddison and 3 of the back 4 to injury (suspension) I'd actually have agreed with you . . but if they'd stayed fit I would now be reminding you that you were spouting out your fart pipe ... because I fully believe we'd have finished third ... and with some breathing room ... our last game before Ricardo's injury saw us thump Villa 4-0
Indeed you were, in the event ... and if that's the worst run of injuries we get for the next few years, I'll take it. Our young squad would have found the CL very tough this season ... but should benefit markedly from a Europa campaign ... all bodes well for the future.
