I don't think people actually hate Donald, I think the constant contradictions when he's being interviewed, how the club had been handled and where the club is at the present time is hated more imo. We all have an opinion on the club (whether people agree with that opinion or not) for one reason only - the club is a part of our being, it hurts when we lose a game and we're on cloud nine when we win. The fact that people are now not renewing season tickets because of Donald doesn't mean they hate him but because of what it's perceived he's doing to the club
SJ once said ‘how do you become a millionaire running a football club?... become a billionaire first, then buy a football club!’
I just had a look at RTG and it's quite strange on there. Lots of people wanting the thread shut down which is weird for a chat forum which is all it is, not Crown Court. Otherwise they claim that because they've heard nothing personally it means nothing is happening. They demand info then immediately pull anyone to pieces who posts any ... ... "Has be posted info before, is he a striker, what's his source, does he have sworn statements"
I find it strange how many people seem to think people who are posting info are doing it for attention. There might be one or two posters who are into that sort of thing, but they'd be very apparent. Most are just passing on things they've heard for the benefit of the people reading the threads because there's a lot of good people on here and smb. I mean, it's a takeover thread and there's nothing official to discuss, so I'm not sure what else they'd be expecting to see! People hear things, they pass on what they can and have a bit of crack about it. If it's official news people want, they could just check safc.com every day. I just take everything at face value and accept that it might be completely wrong. I know which posters I trust, in terms of fully believing that they'll be passing stuff on in good faith, but I still don't assume it'll be 100% accurate.
Its gone right downhill, I pop in now and again and it only ever lasts a couple of minutes. I used to enjoy the crack whilst never really posting a great deal. People take things far too serioulsy and the same ****wits spoil thread after thread with the same boring crack. Mods have totally lost control, I prefer it here now, a lot more relaxed and not full of loonies waiting to jump on every word.
If I look back at what I've posted 90% looks fair enough and I'm happy with it. 30% like McGeady & Ross being sacked, Ashley binning Staveley, their HMRC case, Benitez leaving, etc was spot on but, tbf, came from people on a different level to me. But 10% of it looks very shaky looking back. I was told, for a fact, that FPP had engaged an ex-England manger to advise them. That was months before anyone else mentioned it and I was hoping someone would provide some proof but no one ever did. It may come out in time but I'm becoming skeptical ... ... the person who told me is very well connected, and I trust him, but that info has made me doubt him a bit tbh.
Is the ex England manager not mclaren, I know he showed up at a few games when you first posted it last year
What I like about this forum is that no one bothers about 'maintaining a presence' and responding to absolutely every post, usually with the same 'in joke' or latest catchphrase. On here people pop in when they feel like it and don't feel it vital to gang up on people they don't agree with. But, above all, most posters have some affection for SAFC, the town or the NE. RTG often has none.
I stated it as a fact and felt sure someone else would know and back me up. No one ever did and, tbh, it was quite an outrageous claim bearing in mind our position. I live in hope mate.
