If they gave Merson the Spanish Archer they could save a fortune on booze as well , he has to be pissed with the load of old bollox he spouts
If you've got nothing better to do Sky are showing the 14/15 league cup final channel403 at 19.00, personally I'm sticking needles in my eyes for a bit of light relief
Watching the T20 on sky ,they are scraping the barrel with adverts between overs, so far an independent car showroom, mother Hubbard fast food franchise and the ubiquitous " international language school
So my day has mainly been spent looking at a black phone screen because the entire EE network is fubbernucked. For some reason I've got the urge to re-watch the first series of The Terror (aka the only series of The Terror worth watching)
Other reasons to hate Talkshite..... As if employing Durham wasn't enough, I give you their policy toward ending presenters contracts, latest example. I always listen to the Weekend Sports Breakfast on Sunday morning because I go out extremely early for exercise that day. I wouldn't say I particularly love the show, but I've become "used" to it, and it accompanies me on my long walks. A couple of weeks ago I tune in and find Georgie Bingham is not on. I assume this is because she's on holiday or something. Same this week, and her name still hasn't been mentioned. Then I recall other presenters who suddenly disappeared from the station and Googled it. Sure enough she's been sacked. Now this isn't about whether you like her as a presenter. Personally I think she's fine, but others point to her lack of football knowledge. I'm sad because when you're walking for hours it's nice to have something familiar to accompany you. The main point I want to make is how Talkshite dispense with their presenters. It's both cruel on the presenter but displays a very arrogant attitude toward the audience. They don't even explain what happened, they just put someone else in and expect the audience to get on with it. This is not the first time that they have done this to a presenter and I don't think it's how a decent broadcaster should behave. I'm sure a lot of you wouldn't class them as decent broadcasters anyway, in which case here's another example for you. I hate arrogance.
I have great memories of the shelf too. One of them relates to those very steep, very pointy and very concrete steps. I remember after a goal we were bouncing around cheering as you do - I can't be completely sure but I think it was a Hoddle free kick - I am on one side of the steps and this other guy is on the other side and he bounces toward the middle and begins to topple backward, which would have led to imminent problems if you remember the kind of fall possible and what you're going to land on. Anyway, in a 1 in 100 chance (or probably more) I happened to be facing him and as he's already lost his balance I caught him by his coat high up by his neck and hauled him back. There is no doubt he would have fallen without my intervention. What did he do - carried on cheering the goal obviously. I don't think he had any idea what was about to happen to him. It's funny how fate intervenes sometimes. I like to think he went on to save someone else's life, or had lots of kids or something really good. Of course he could have gone on to kill someone or become a terrorist. Just a split second incident on the shelf!
I remember standing on the shelf towards the Paxton end when we scored against Southampton, next thing I know the bloke standing next to me is covered in blood and so am I, then we realised that one of the Southampton fans on the terrace in front had thrown one of those tomato sauce bottles shaped like a giant tomato, oh how we laughed

"I take full responsibility..." What the **** does that even mean? Walker has just said it about his red card, someone said it in the week about something. It's not a thing! Saying "I take no responsibility" is a thing. Does it mean that if a player does something really bad, but takes responsibility than we are supposed to forgive him? Does it mitigate what he did? Why should it? The rest of us take responsibility for everything we do all the time. Why should players be different and why to writers/pundits even bother to report such a stupid statement. Of course you accept responsibility - who else is responsible for getting sent off???????
Pep the messiah coached back in the full Bonzo that Pochettino removed. Proof indeed that Sugga Daddy FCs often just covet the players of other teams purely on "because I can" basis rather than the material improvement they bring to a team.
