A few days ago some-one did a thread about our lack of form against teams associated with birds....someone has mystical powers..

However in tonights echo there is this....

STEVE Bruce’s Sunderland hope to overcome some bird trouble when they meet West Bromwich Albion tomorrow.

This season, the Black Cats have yet to overcome opposition that are associated with our feathered-friends.

They did manage draws against Liverpool (Liver birds) and Swansea (nicknamed The Swans, but were beaten by the Canaries (Norwich), Seagulls (Brighton) and the Magpies (Newcastle).

West Brom’s most popular nickname is the Baggies, but they are also known as the Throstles and have the song thrush on their club badge.

    Let’s hope that’s not a bad omen

    Who reading who's material?

  6. I posted a thread earlier in the year Comm about my next door neighbours outing to York races and his chin-wag with Quinn who was also there. My neighbour referred to me and Quinn answered 'you dont call him Joe do you'? Joe's not my name but it did give me food for thought..:)

I guess I'm not up to scratch on bird names. As far as I'm concerned all the big birds are pigeons/seagulls and all the tiny birds are spuggies. Case closed.

I'd designate an Osprey as a 'makka bird'.

Mind you, if one of those things came flying towards me I'd be ****ing legging it instead of trying to figure out what its name was.

I expect the press and the club read this forum as well as RTG. I know players do as they have refered to RTG on twitter before.

A Jurno is going to use the Internet to find a story if its a slow day. As for the club they will be looking at what the opinion of the fans is. I know we are a very small proportion on here, but we are the ones (especially the frequent posters) that get word of mouth going and generally spread the rumours and the general feelings of the fans. Don't under estimate what you can do on the Internet trust me on that one.

It'd be the highlight of my week if Brucey attacked Baggie Bird pre match in a fit of anti-avian rage.
