Your claim is wrong. As if you’re using shots saved then Tim Krul was the 2nd best keeper in the league last season.
Goals don't keep you up either. Its the sum of all parts, always without exception. Football has always been a team game with a wide array of elements affecting the end result in games and final standings. To put it down to one thing such as goals or goalkeeping is just silly to me. You can say one element impacted more than others, but to credit one thing, I just can't see how that can be the case. I've seen keepers have stellar seasons, I've seen strikers have stellar seasons, I've seen teams with both go down. People say take their clean sheets/saves or goals out of it. Its not quite that simple.
No I'm using all the stats.. Dubravka also got 11 clean sheets having faced more shots and in a side with the least ball possession in the league... The only area newcastle were good at is the goalkeeping that's essentially what I'm saying... If we had a striker that scored more than 4 goals I might be more inclined to see that as a standout area. I stand by my claim that Dubravka who was voted out player of the season was the reason we stayed up, although I understand a few other things contributed like the other team missing all their chances for example. Nufc were absolutely hopeless in every area of the pitch bar some fancy dribbling skills with little to no end product and a very good goalkeeper.
I agree it's the sum of all parts like I say, but the main sum in our parts was the amount of saves out keeper made and more importantly the number of clean sheets.. Our player of the season was the main reason we stayed up... Not maximiss, not rafa and not Bruce's luck. If your one of the worse sides in every area of the game but the best at 1 then it's easy to point to that as the defining factor in staying up. Dubravka kept us up not single handedly though because thankfully he has two
You can’t say he kept you up. You can say he formed part of a decent defence that kept you up though. I rate him btw, he’s a quality keeper.
That's fair enough I just don't see the defence being particularly effective given the number of shots he had to save I do accept not one player keeps you up I was really talking in very general terms. BTW it must be great seeing deals for Rodriguez and the lad from Allan... Sorry for saying this but I fancy everton will beat spurs and have a good season
I find that hard to believe Our defenders will have scored more than defenders from the other 3 teams, so unless you're including defenders as attackers you're wrong
It’s just adding up. I said attack not attackers. You don’t count goals that come from midfield players either like? Curious.
Well all I'm saying is those stats can be misleading. Our actual attacking players will have scored the least goals in the league
He can, he'd just be wrong I mean we are not even getting into breaking down those shots saved or the fact that as newcastle keeper you simply face more shots. It could be he had gadzillions of long range dollies for a start. Football is a team game, end of story for me.
It would appear that way if I'd not been banging the same drum for two decades. We had a food season under pardew but that's it.. The rests been painfully bad and that's really my reason for expecting the same. Let's hope you're all right.. I want us to stay up..
That has nothing to do with this discussion - that was someone else on another thread. You're taking this friendly far too seriously. I could easily chat bollocks because we quite easily won against Crewe and Barnsley. But that would be ****ing ******ed.
You're taking this friendly far too seriously and now you're misinterpreting my posts as an attack. Go take a walk and then come back and apologise for being a prick.
Mate no was merely having banter.. Jesus... No attack intended..... You should know by now.. I get my fair share on here I assure you.. I will apologise though because it obviously offended you
