    It's the Birch announcement.
The club put it up, took it down about ten minutes later and then reposted it, for some reason.

The interesting part is at the bottom

These management changes will lead to the creation of a Football Board consisting of Trevor Birch, Rebecca Caplehorn and Steve Hitchen, chaired by Daniel Levy.

In other words, maybe don't celebrate that Jeff Bezos is taking us over

Also, if that did happen, don't celebrate it

Apparently Birch is experienced with administration and takeovers (Chelsea & Leeds).

Could this be the first step in ENIC selling up?

Alasdair Gold goes into a little bit of detail about what the football board will do

Interesting that he suggests it's more to do with day-to-day operations rather than a DoF, which is Steve Hitchin's new role

From what I’ve read about him (last few hours as never heard of him before today) Birch seems to be short term in a lot of his previous roles and usually for a specific project (takeovers) rather than day-to-day footballing business

The facts don't support that theory, as a quick look at his CV demonstrates
Everton (2004-7, nobody took over Everton until 2016)
Swansea (2019-20, when their takeover was in 2016)
Sheffield United (2010-11, their Saudi owners didn't show up until 2013)
Derby (2007, so had nothing to do with their takeovers in 2003, 2006, 2008 or 2015...bloody hell that's a lot)

People have latched on to him being at Chelsea when Uncle Roman arrived as "proof" Jeff Bezos/Bill Gates/Elon Musk/Mark Zuckerberg will be taking us over, which mainly serves to demonstrate that nobody knows the name of who owns Google

Also, I dread the thought of Bezos/Musk/Zuckerberg taking us over...

So he arrives before the takeover to get the ducks lined up?

It happens in all businesses, people specialise in trimming the waste before a sale can be made.

EDIT..........oh and no, i don't think ENIC are getting ready to sell yet, now would be a shocking time. They need to get the stadium debt down and have it start producing a profit.
It could be two years before that situation arises or even longer with the present situation.

Not necessarily an immediate takeover but the beginning of the process

The Tottenham Tesla Arena doesn’t sound appealing to you then? <laugh>

I'd rather not have the club run by a Covid Truther who has a track record of tanking his own company's share price with a single moronic tweet

ENIC have been preparing to sell the club for years. If the right offer came they would sell. Birch might be there for when that happens but maybe not.

According to Dan Kilpatrick Birch has joined to over see the day to day running of the training ground , does that mean he is head groundsman ?

So there's a theory going about saying the reason we got such a good deal on Matt Doherty was the ubermensch called in a favour with Jorge Mendes, who just so happens to be
    * The ubermensch's agent
    * Doherty's agent
    * A club agent for Wolves

I give it a week before The FA think there's something wrong with this arrangement, having turned a blind eye to it for four years when Wolves were reaping the benefits...

Sky saying that Ndombele will stay and 'be given a chance to prove himself'. Here's hoping he can then, there's no doubts from anyone about his talent, guy just needs to get in shape, toughen up and give it some oomph.

Also, might be worth staying off Twitter for a sec, Bale's given an interview to Sky. Admitted he tried to leave last year (for the China move IIRC) and that it's in Madrid's hands as to whether he leaves this summer. So you can imagine all the tweets from Spurs fans at the moment, lol.

    Soumare Watch
    He's back!

While nothing specific, Telefoot report that the door is open for him to leave Lille and they have received concrete offers, and Soumare is certainly keen to prove himself on a larger (read: better paying) stage

    Ligue 2 Rando Watch
Foot Mercato are now reporting that Ibrahim Sangare's asking price has dropped to €8-10m, which is such an easy layup for Levy (especially since it was €15m a few weeks ago) that it would be bad manners to not at least make a bid

Sell Ndombele, buy Soumare and use the change to get in a striker <badger>

Sangare's looking the far more tempting option right now, given Lille are basically saying we have several bids - now fight it out to gain our attention

Ideally I'd prefer not to shop in France for a while. Given us far too many nightmares.
