Match Thread: Southampton v Watford

Well i suspect we'll lose but may not be the battering some are predicting. We've shown glimmers of some decent football and our defence is looking more solid recently. However, that said, and as has been mentioned, we've really not come up against quality this season and even West Ham didn't have to get out of 2nd gear to beat us 4-0 so I'm apprehensive.

 

Late tip for Watford Saints are now practising shooting from 30 to 35 yards. Nothing to worry about they can't hit a barn door with a banjo.

 

I`ve never hit a barn door with a banjo before..........is it difficult?

 

Think we should practice shooting from 6 yards before we move onto the 35 yarders.

Hi all you saints. Can you tell me is there any problem with the sun in your eyes anywhere in your stadium and is it likely to be a problem where us visitors will be?

Really looking forward to seeing St Mary's for the first time. I remember your old place fondly but am hopeful of a bit more comfort and a better view in the new one.

 

You should be fine in the away end, it shines on the benches/Itchen stand a bit.

 

I might have a shout at 5/1. I always feel in any league that 5/1 are generous odds in what is a three horse race. And as my mum used to say "always back the outsider of three"

The sun does tend to shine on the lower part (closer to the pitch) of the Northam stand aswell i'd say - so if you're sitting there, you may have the sun in your eyes

If we can go in at half time in the lead, then I can see us scoring a couple of goals towards the end. I'm going for 3-0 Saints.

There'll be a few goals and they'll be scored at both ends - not committing myself beyond that

My predicitng ability doubtless that means it will now end in a scoreless draw

 

Don't stand in the Northam goalmouth in the first half unless you want to top up your tan.

I've gone for a draw (something I never do) because Saints have lost a couple of games and the shock has addled my brain. It feels like a generation of children have been raised since Saints lost at home. Glad to find a team that has an active site..usually Saints not606-ers are on their own.
